Drake on Monday morning confirmed the release date for his upcoming album Certified Lover Boy on Instagram, and along with his announcement came the unveiling of the album’s official artwork, done up by British contemporary artist Damien Hirst. The cover features 12 “Pregnant Woman” emojis in various skin tones and shirt colors, mimicking the nature of Hirst’s iconographic spot paintings. Longtime fans of the artist might also notice the album artwork’s resemblance to Hirst’s The Virgin Mother, a bronze sculpture of a pregnant woman created in 2005. A verified Drake fan account posted a photo of the never-before-seen work to Instagram with the caption, “1 of 2 by Damien Hirst,” suggesting that either there are only two editions of the artwork in existence, or that the artist created an add...

COREY TAYLOR Still Wants To Make ‘Whiskey Jazz’ And ‘Darker Acoustic’ Solo Albums

While chatting with fans virtually as part of this year’s GalaxyCon, SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor was asked if there is a specific genre of music that he would still like to tap into that he has not yet pursued with any of his projects. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I definitely want to do a jazz album at some point. I talked about it in a couple of different interviews and stuff. But I definitely have a certain style of jazz that I kind of gravitate towards more — like a dirtier size of jazz; the whiskey jazz is what they call it… I definitely still want to do a darker acoustic album. I don’t write stuff like that all the time, and the reason I don’t do that is because it’s so easy for me; I can write that shit in my sle...

SEPULTURA’s DERRICK GREEN Says Showing Proof Of Vaccination Or Negative Test To Attend Concerts ‘Shouldn’t Be A Problem’

During an appearance on the latest episode of “The MetalSucks Podcast”, SEPULTURA frontman Derrick Green was asked how he feels about the increasing number of venues and concert promoters who are requiring proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a current negative test to attend shows. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I think it’s really important that each person takes responsibility of being as safe as possible. So if you’re going to a show, then it shouldn’t be a problem to take a test. And if you have a card, then just show your card. I think in these times, it’s different from any other times, so you have to take precautions because you don’t wanna get other people sick. And you have to be selfless. A lot of times people ar...

It’s only been a few weeks anyway. We’re just talking about direction — how it’s gonna be, sound and all the rest of it.
