Billboard has reached out to Def Jam for comment. The Donda track “Jail pt 2,” featuring DaBaby, was originally unavailable when the album first appeared on streaming services Sunday morning, but became available later in the afternoon. In a now-deleted Instagram post from early Sunday, West shared screenshots of text messages saying the track was being held up because of clearance issues from DaBaby. During Ye’s third large-scale listening event for Donda at Chicago’s Soldier Field on Aug. 26, it was revealed that Jay-Z’s verse on “Jail” had been replaced by a new one from DaBaby, who has been under fire for making homophobic and misogynistic comments at Rolling Loud Miami in July. Fans were pleased to learn Sunday that Jay’s verse had been ...
BTS, who recently graced the cover of Billboard, and Megan Thee Stallion’s remix arrived days after the rapper filed an emergency temporary restraining order against 1501 Certified Entertainment, alleging that her label was blocking her from appearing on a remix of BTS’ Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 smash “Butter.” On Tuesday (Aug. 24), a Texas judge ruled in favor of the Megan’s request to extend the TRO that permitted her to release the remix. The following day, both acts announced the remix. “Butter” has been sticking to the top of Billboard‘s Songs of the Summer chart, where it remains in the week dated Aug. 28. The song, which ruled the Hot 100 for nine weeks and became the longest-running No. 1 of 2021 (so far), ...

Following the release of DONDA and Kanye West claiming it was released without his permission, Soulja Boy took to Twitter to call out the 44-year-old rapper for leaving his verse out of the album. According to the screenshots, Draco tweeted that West reached out to him, showing him love and suggesting to work with him on his new Gap campaign and album. Soulja agreed they should work on fashion and music together and the “Crank That” rapper was seen sending a few audio files possibly for the track “Remote Control.” “This n***a Kanye smh,” Soulja tweeted along with the screenshots. “Tell homie dont hit my phone no more.” The song “Remote Control” still made it onto DONDA, but Soulja’s supposed verse was swapped out for a verse from Young Thug. A fan responded to a fan’s tweet which asked him...

Gene Simmons says that the situation with COVID-19 has become so ” life-threatening” that he favors vaccine mandates. As cases rise nationwide due to the high number of unvaccinated Americans and the highly transmissible delta variant of the novel coronavirus, the KISS bassist/vocalist says that he supports mandatory vaccines as a potential solution. Gene, whose bandmate Paul Stanley tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week, forcing the postponement of at least three KISS shows, discussed the hot-button issue in a new interview with Marci Wiser of the 95.5 KLOS radio station. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “It’s shocking that people still believe — there are enough people out there who still believe it’s a hoax and schmoax. And they prefer...
In a new interview with Australia’s “Scars And Guitars” podcast, bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker of British extreme metal pioneers CARCASS spoke about the fact that his band’s first two albums, “Reek Of Putrefaction” (1988) and “Symphonies Of Sickness” (1989), have influenced a generation of new bands to combine similarly graphic and consciously provocative lyrics with savage and deeply disturbed melodies. “That’s why it’s kind of funny when people [say] they wish we’d go back to that style,” Jeff said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “And I’m thinking there’s been 30 years of bands emulating that style. Go listen to them. They did it so much better anyway. What would be the point in us attemp...
KORN singer Jonathan Davis is “still struggling with COVID after-effects,” two weeks after it was announced that he tested positive for the novel coronavirus. As a result of his infection, the band was forced to postpone six dates on its current U.S. tour. Earlier today, KORN guitarist Brian “Head” Welch released a video message in which he offered an update on Davis‘s health. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Shoutout to Indianapolis/Noblesville, Indiana… My God, you guys gave us so much love last night. We appreciate you so much. Jonathan Davis is still struggling with the COVID after-effects. He’s physically weak and having a mental battle. And any type of love, light and energy you can throw at him — prayers, all of it. We have sho...
As fans continue to celebrate the drop of DONDA, it appears that Kanye West isn’t happy with how his tenth studio album was released. Hours after DONDA made its way onto streaming platforms, ‘Ye took to Instagram to share that it was released without his blessing. His Instagram post notes that his distribution label, UMG Recordings, released his album without his permission and blocked “Jail Pt 2” featuring DaBaby, Francis and the Lights and Marilyn Manson from appearing on the project. “UNIVERSAL PUT MY ALBUM OUT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL AND THEY BLOCKED JAIL 2 FROM BEING ON THE ALBUM,” wrote ‘Ye. Hours before the release of DONDA, there was controversy regarding DaBaby and his team not clearing his verse on “Jail Pt 2.” Responding to screenshots of a text conversation posted by Kanye, Arnold ...

The forthcoming motion picture tells the origin story of how the Kingsman organization was established during the First World War. If you fancy action-packed thrillers with war and gore, then there’s a high chance that you’re going to be entertained by this movie. The violence-repleted trailer takes viewers back to the 1900s. Vaughn introduces us to Orlando Oxford (the protagonist played by Ralph Fiennes) — a duke who is employed by a secret intel...
This morning, Kanye West’s long-awaited Donda was released onto streaming services following three listening events (two in Atlanta and one in Chicago) and two release dates that were pushed. Now, in yet another twist, West says that his label, Universal, released the album without his permission. “UNIVERSAL PUT MY ALBUM OUT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL AND THEY BLOCKED JAIL 2 FROM BEING ON THE ALBUM,” West wrote on Instagram (in all caps that you can see below). SPIN has reached out to Universal for comment on whether or not they released it without his approval. When the 27-song, nearly two-hour album was released this morning, it didn’t contain “Jail Pt 2,” which had a verse from DaBaby that West claimed was held up by DaBaby’s manager who wouldn’t approve it. Now, the song is on there...
