It was recorded at Betty’s, the Chapel Hill studio of fellow North Carolinians Sylvan Esso. Since announcing the record would come out on Saddle Creek, De Souza has shared a handful of songs from Any Shape You Take these past few months. Megan Thee Stallion Joins Forces with BTS on “Butter” Remix: Stream

Megan Thee Stallion has linked up with BTS for a new remix of their long-running No. 1 hit, “Butter.” Stream it below. Earlier this week, it was briefly unclear if Megan’s “Butter” remix would see the light of day. In court documents filed on Tuesday in Harris County, Texas, Megan alleged that her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, was blocking her from releasing the track. According to Variety, a judge ruled in favor of the rapper. This wasn’t the first time Megan has entered a legal dispute with 1501. Last year, she filed a lawsuit against the label for allegedly preventing her from releasing an EP titled Suga. At the time, she was granted a temporary restraining order. Kanye Brings Out Marilyn Manson and DaBaby at Donda Listening Party

Kanye West held his latest Donda listening party at Chicago’s Soldier Field on Thursday night, and he made the conscious decision to appear alongside two of the most toxic figures in music: Marilyn Manson and DaBaby. Manson and DaBaby accompanied West on the porch of a replica of his childhood home, constructed midfield at Soldier Field. Presumably, their appearances were some sort of commentary on “canceled” musicians; in the case of Manson, he’s been accused by multiple women of sexual abuse. Meanwhile, DaBaby was dropped by a number of major music festivals after going on a homophobic rant last month. What’s more, Kanye replaced a Jay-Z verse on Donda with one from DaBaby. And the evening only got more bizarre from there: towards the end of the listening party, Kanye literally lit himse...

Kim Petras Kicks Off New Era with “Future Starts Now”: Stream

How does one say “Woo-ah!” in French? After weeks of hype, Kim Petras has shared her brand new single “Future Starts Now”. Stream it below on Apple Music and Spotify. The incandescent bop finds the rising German pop icon feeling more irrepressible than ever as she sings, “Ain’t nobody gonna stop me/ Don’t you let the music stop now/ You’re more than just anybody/ Don’t give up, the future starts now/ Worry ’bout it in the morning/ Take it to another level/ You’re more than just anybody/ Don’t give up, the future starts now” on the Euro house-inspired chorus. The trans singer first debuted the track live during her set during Day 1 of Lollapalooza, flanked by a quartet of back-up dancers as she lived out her full pop star fantasy wearing a high pony and an old school-style Britney mic. Turnstile: Glow On

Brendan Yates is the frontman of the biggest thing in hardcore and he understands that makes him an entertainer first. “If it makes you feel alive!/Well, then I’m happy to provide!” he screams on “Blackout,” a single from Turnstile’s spectacular fourth album Glow On and a synopsis of the entire Turnstile experience: there’s chunky power chords, a blindingly bright alt-rock hook, drum machines, and a Latin funk breakdown, and also it’s about wanting just one moment in the spotlight before you die. The Baltimore quintet’s genre fusion and their belief in its transformative power are equally responsible for frequent comparisons to Rage Against the Machine, 311, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and maybe even Incubus—bands far outside the purview of hardcore. Turnstile are “alternative rock” by the lite...

THE ROLLING STONES To Go Ahead With U.S. Tour After CHARLIE WATTS’s Death

THE ROLLING STONES will go ahead with their previously announced U.S. tour next month despite the recent passing of drummer Charlie Watts. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood will resume the “No Filter” trek in St. Louis on September 26. A source told The Sun: “The band wants to make the show a celebration of his life. He was like a brother to them but they know he would have hated the thought of them canceling shows. Charlie had given them his blessing to tour without him following his operation, so they will honor his wishes.” Stepping in for Watts on the trek will be his “great friend” Steve Jordan. Jordan previously played with THE ROLLING STONES guitarist Keith Richards. Not everybody was happy about THE ROLLING STONES‘ plans to carry ...

SMILE EMPTY SOUL Frontman Refuses To Play Venues Where Vaccines Are Required, Says ‘Medical Freedom’ Is Important To Him

California hard rock band SMILE EMPTY SOUL has announced plans to cancel “a couple” of its previously booked shows because the concert venues in question are requiring a COVID-19 vaccine for fans. A number of bars and clubs have adopted the new protocol because the owners say the music industry and the artists demand a safe environment to perform. On Wednesday (August 25), SMILE EMPTY SOUL guitarist and lead singer Sean Danielsen released the following statement via social media: “Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know that we will be canceling a couple of shows here and there moving forward due to vaccine requirement rules. “I stand 100% for freedom, and medical freedom is especially important to me. I believe that you should get the vaccine if you want it, but sh...

MATT SORUM Is ‘Thankful’ For His Time With GUNS N’ ROSES: ‘That’s The Blessing Of My Life’

Former GUNS N’ ROSES drummer Matt Sorum has told Desert Sun that he is “thankful” for the time he spent in the band, even though he wasn’t invited to rejoin the group when it launched its “Not In This Lifetime” reunion tour five years ago. “When I get upgraded to a better suite at a hotel because the guy behind the register says, ‘Hey, aren’t you the guy from GUNS N’ ROSES? I’m gonna upgrade you,’ I say, ‘Thank you, Axl Rose.’ That’s the blessing of my life and I thank God for that and and he put me there. I know it’s hard for rock ‘n’ rollers to divulge that kind of information, but I’m at the age now where I don’t care.” The 60-year-old Sorum, who replaced Steven ...

TESLA Releases Music Video For New Single ‘Cold Blue Steel’

Veteran Northern California rockers TESLA have released the official music video for their brand new single, “Cold Blue Steel”. The clip was directed by Brandon Gullion and produced by TESLA guitarist Frank Hannon. In a recent interview with Rob Rush Radio, Hannon described the track, which he co-wrote with singer Jeff Keith, as “a very real-sounding rock and roll new song. It’s influenced by [late LYNYRD SKYNYRD singer] Ronnie Van Zant. It just turned out that when I was in the garage playing my guitar, writing the riff for the music, JK [Jeff Keith] had called up and he was listening to ‘Saturday Night Special’ by LYNYRD SKYNYRD. And so we decided to kind of touch on that subject. And we wrote that song. And we’re really happy with the way it sou...
