ABC has shared the first full-length trailer for its upcoming reboot of The Wonder Years. Watch it below. Centered around a Black family in Montgomery, Alabama, the coming of age series stars EJ Williams as 12-year-old Dean, with narration by Don Cheadle as Dean’s older self. “Twelve was the age I was gonna figure out what my bag was. I’d never be as popular as my sister, as smart as my mom, or as bad as my dad,” Cheadle narrates, introducing Dean’s family played, respectively, by Laura Kariuki as sister Kim, Saycon Sengbloh as mother Lillian, and Dulé Hill as father Bill. Set in the year 1968, the show will also tackle important topics of the time such as school segregation along with universal middle school foibles like bullying, locker room anxiety, and first crushes. The Pitch: Paging Dr. King: It’s time for another round of “Let’s Basically Do The Shining!” For the latest installment of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s long-running horror anthology series, we settle in with the Gardners — father Harry (Finn Wittrock), wife Doris (Rabe), and daughter Alma (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) — driving to the sleepy seaside town of Providence, Massachusetts. Harry’s a writer looking to get out of the city and cure his writer’s block; Doris, who’s expecting their second child, plans to renovate their drab vacation house in exchange for free rent. But naturally, a few things are amiss about their new home: the neighboring houses turn on red lights as the sun goes down, creepy albinos with fangs loiter around the local graveyard, and “Tuberculosis Karen” (Sarah ...

The band and their crew have operated in a bubble independently to saf...

Round 2 of writing sessions!” In a recent interview with Tulsa Music Stream, Sheehan spoke about the upcoming LP from THE WINERY DOGS. Asked if the band is still writing material for the follow-up to 2015’s “Hot Streak” or if it has begun recording, Sheehan said: “A little of both, but it’s mostly writing. We write like people used to write in the old days: the band gets together in a room and we sta...

It’s been 20 years since the release of Gorillaz’ self-titled debut album. The virtual act is celebrating the milestone with an EP called Meanwhile. The three tracks are a tribute to where they first performed their hit “Clint Eastwood” at the 2000 Notting Hill Carnival in West London. The EP’s three songs are “Déjà Vu” (feat. Alicaì Harley), “Jimmy Jimmy” (feat. AJ Tracey), and “Meanwhile” (feat. Jelani Blackman and Barrington Levy). The title track is slightly mellow for a party EP and lyrics like, “I love carnival beers.” Poor Jimmy in “Jimmy Jimmy” seems to struggle with the pressure in his life but that makes for a really cool, reggae-inspired track. “Déjà Vu” is another reggae bump, with Harley killing the vocals on your new favorite sunny-beach-day song. Listen below: You Deserve to...
Maison2500 only goes when he’s ready. The Nigerian artist, who’s split time between there and London, is back with his head-spinning new video, directed by Nick Freeman for the haunting 2AAB-produced track, “x2 Much Dope.” Earlier this year, OVO’s own cosigned Maison, a frequent Lancey Foux and Cruel Santino collaborator, featuring him on their “Sound 42” Sirius XM show, curated by Oliver El-Khatib and GoHomeRoger. The Lagos-based rapper burst onto the scene, octane-blazing with “Dirty Fanta” which showcased him and fellow Nigerian artist Odunsi (the engine) taking the new wave by storm last year, and now he’s followed up his latest single “X2 Much Dope,” creating a universe-expanding visual. Glissading over the spooky synth in blurred muscle cars, Maison2500 takes a ride from the underwor...

Double Shot at Love is returning — and this time, “it’s all about Vinny.” The series, premiering on September 16, will feature Jersey Shore‘s lone single cast member looking for his perfect match. Seventeen lucky ladies are trying to capture his heart, but fortunately for Vin (and us!), he won’t be experiencing the dating series without some (very entertaining) help. “Let’s find this guy a wifey!” DJ Pauly D yells into his megaphone in the promo above. Pauly D’s ladylove Nikki Hall will also be aiding Vin every step of the way — after all, the couple does know this process works firsthand! From one lady declaring she would “bake cookies off [Vinny’s] body” to Snooki and JWOWW dubbing themselves “match...
