ACRAZE Drops Highly Anticipated House Single “Do It To It”: Listen

In 2006, R&B group Cherish released “Do It To It,” which topped the charts for over five months and became a defining song of the noughties. Fast-forward to Friday, when Orlando-based DJ and producer ACRAZE released his highly anticipated rework via Thrive Music—and it’s on track to be the biggest crossover hit of the summer. In a victorious moment a few weeks ago, DJ Snake brought ACRAZE on stage at Brooklyn Mirage and hailed the track as “the song of the summer” before dropping it for a rowdy crowd. With a pulsing bassline and head-bopping drums, the tune is addictive. The beat syncs up perfectly with the catchy and nostalgic vocal hook, making it impossible not to sing and dance along. It’s one of those rare songs that compels the whole crowd to bounce and groove. Way bef...

Listen to Songs By Marc Rebillet’s Decade-Old Music Production Alias, leae

Over the past year or so, Marc Rebillet quickly became a household name. But before Loop Daddy was an international music festival headliner, he released wonky electronic beats and hip-hop instrumentals under a secretive alias. While some super-fans have known about the side project—dubbed leae—for some time now, after browsing some of Rebillet’s near decade-old tracks, we felt it was time to unearth them. As you can hear from the track below, leae’s music is a far cry from Rebillet’s current songs about hormone therapy and grandma-devouring flamingos. It mostly comprises introspective, instrumental solo tracks aside from a few collabs with hip-hop artists. If anything, the sound is a microcosm of not his production chops, but also his growth...

NGHTMRE Announces New Collaboration With Smokepurpp

It looks like NGHTMRE and Smokepurpp are on the verge of dropping an epic collaboration. Over the weekend, NGHTMRE performed at STORY Miami and brought up the famed “Audi” rapper for part of his set. The next day, he posted a few photos from the show with a not-so-subtle hint that a new song is on the way. “NGHTMRE x Smokepurpp at STORY Miami last night,” the caption reads. “We got a mf heater incoming.” Unfortunately, NGHTMRE stopped short of divulging any more information about the collab, including a title or release date. But considering NGHTMRE’s bold message, the track could be released any day now. Check out NGHTMRE’s teaser below. Recommended Articles After teaming up with Yung Pinch for the anthemic trap single &#...

BUKU: Planet B Festival Cancelled Due to Uncertainty of COVID-19

Earlier this summer BUKU Music + Art Project announced a diverse lineup for their one-of-a-kind boutique event, dubbed Planet B. The festival has now sadly been canceled due to the impact of COVID-19. In a statement released via social media, BUKU: Planet B organizers addressed the inability to safely proceed with the fest given the current and projected conditions of COVID-19 in Louisiana. “As you’ve probably seen, Louisiana is getting rocked by COVID again and it’s causing large events in the state to cancel,” the statement reads. “We’ve spent the last couple weeks trying to hang on, but don’t see a guaranteed path forward under the current & projected public health conditions.” BUKU Music + Art Project Recommended Articl...

John Lydon Loses Bid to Prevent Sex Pistols’ Music From Being Used in Upcoming Series About the Band

Earlier this year, John Lydon threatened to sue so that the Sex Pistols’ music from being used in an upcoming Danny Boyle-directed TV series about the band that would air on FX, which is titled Pistol. What happened was that his former bandmates, Steve Jones and Paul Cook, ended up suing Lydon after he refused to allow a license for the band’s music to be used. That’s not to mention that Lydon said he was booted from the show for being too difficult. On Monday, a British judge ruled against Lydon. In the High Court of Justice, Sir Anthony Mann ruled that the agreement between the living bandmembers that was established in 1988 and states that would be determined by a “majority rules basis” is still active and since Jones and Cook were in the majority, the songs would be allowed for use. Pixies Cancel U.S. Tour Due to Covid-19 Concerns

As the music industry navigates its rocky return, the alt-rock band Pixies made the decision to scrap its September U.S. tour, fully refunding fans for the tickets. “Regretfully, we announce today that we are canceling our 11-date U.S. September run,” the band said in a statement posted to its social media accounts. “We have determined that with the current surge in Covid cases — made worse by the Delta variant — that this is the right decision for our fans and crew members’ safety, as well as our own.” Covid-19 cases are seeing a major uptick through the U.S., including a rise in breakthrough infections among those vaccinated. A local Cincinnati station recently reported that the Delta variant is driving a surge of infections in the state of Ohio, which would have been a stop on the Pixie...

Bronx VI – THE BRONX

RATING: 8/10 Los Angeles punk rock stalwarts THE BRONX has returned with its sixth album. It’s titled, ahem, “Bronx VI”, changing things up since its predecessor was “V” and all previous albums were simply titled “The Bronx”. Silly jokes and simplicity aside, THE BRONX is a fantastic punk rock band that fully embraces the depth of rock ‘n’ roll and all forms of guitar-oriented music. Their songs are reliably memorable, and their delivery is extremely passionate, especially that of frontman Matt Caughthran. The Californians have yet to release a subpar album, and that remains true with “Bronx VI”. The ensemble’s hard-hitting rock ‘n’ roll energy and original take on punk rock sound is as fresh as ever, right...

Speaking to KTNV‘s “Las Vegas Morning Blend”, Simmons, whose art collection has never been displayed publicly, stated about his sketches and paintings: “The pandemic has been just horrible for everybody out there. But it also gave me a chance to be alone and not have all these other things — people and ideas — floating around, to just kind of not worry about what people thought: ‘Do I have to stick my tongue o...
