Guitarist Alex Lifeson, who has been dubbed the band’s “Beer Scientist,” stated, “Rush Canadian Golden Ale is golden in color with a dense ivory head. It has an earthy aroma with hints of orange-peel, pine and spicy rye. While the emphasis is on refreshment, there are elements of pine, rye spice and a citric hop flavor that add to the...

SixTONES’ ‘Mascara’ Hits No. 1 on Japan Hot 100 With Half-Million CDs Sold

YOASOBI’s new single “Love Letter” debuts at No. 4. The track was produced for a project hosted by a TOKYO FM radio program that called for letters to be submitted for the breakout duo to consider basing a new song on. The letter that was chosen from among the numerous submissions from around the country was written by a then-sixth-grader named Hatsunesan, who wrote about their gratitude toward music. “Love Letter,” the song based on Hatsunesan’s letter, scored 31,392 first-week downloads to hit No. 1 for the metric, which fueled its launch at No. 4 on the chart. This song’s debut edged the duo’s “Sangenshoku” out to No. 11, but they still maintain three songs in the top 10, as do BTS (“Permission to Dance,” “Butter,” “Dynamite”). Deafheaven vocalist George Clarke was able to live a pandemic dream: He managed to get out of the States safely. His partner, a musician from New Zealand, was able to work and play shows over there; after completing Deafheaven’s latest record, Infinite Granite, Clarke was able to get a visa and spent January through late April of this year in the country. Though it took him a couple days to avoid sidestepping people as he often had to in Deafheaven’s home base of Los Angeles, he felt immensely grateful to see music (especially at a time when summer shows in the States seemed dicey) and be amongst people again. It did, however, feel like an alternate reality to some degree.  “My experience was great, but it was interesting how, even though it was all over the news and people were very ...
