British extreme metal veterans CARCASS have released an animated video — created by Costin Chioreanu (OPETH, NAPALM DEATH) — for a new single, “Dance Of IXTAB (Psychopomp & Circumstance March No. 1 In B)”, from their upcoming seventh studio album, “Torn Arteries”, due out September 17 via Nuclear Blast Records. CARCASS‘s founding vocalist/bassist Jeff Walker states about “Dance Of IXTAB (Psychopomp & Circumstance March No. 1 In B)”: “The song is a foot-stomping festival anthem that will go unheard in an empty, vacuous, post-COVID world ‘stadium’, where used lateral flow tests blow around as litter in the breeze.” In 2019, the band released its first single in over five years, “Under The Scalpel Blade”, fo...

It is the first documentary about Dio to be fully authorized by the artist’s estate. BMG is both financier and executive producer of the film. “I’m going to see the first cut of it next week,” Wendy said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “They’re coming out, and I’m seeing the first cut next week. We are hoping to get it out in ’22 — well, it will come out in ’22, for sure. Absolutely… [The filming] is done. They’re coming in to let me look at it before it goes to edit. And I’m very excited about it...
Hudson — who recently traveled to Detroit to meet with members of Franklin’s family at the singer’s childhood home — said one of the other things she learned while prepping for the film was how involved Aretha was with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the civil rights movement. “It was such a beautiful moment because we reminisced on our favorite moments of hers and her songs,” she said of the visit that included some of Franklin’s grandchildren. Hudson also explained that she learned to play piano for the role because she wanted to emulate Franklin’s skills on the keys, even as Colbert wondered how she could pull it off with her long, pointy, diamond-encrusted fingernails. “It was the most unnatural part to me so I said I had to start wi...
“I really felt the main title theme should be based on music from the show, so I wrote the track and tied it to the main titles graphics and started lobbying the powers that be to have a listen,” Cardoni tells Billboard over email. Music supervisor Jonathan Leahy suggested pairing Cardoni with Bridwell. “We bounced some voice memo vocal ideas off each other and then Ben did his thing. A few days later, he sent me the song and I just about had an out of body experience,” Cardoni says. “It was so emotional, uplifting, and poignant. His voice paired with my music just worked in ways I couldn’t have imagined.” For Bridwell, it was the culmination of a lifetime of fandom and the start of a potential new career path. “As a southern kid who grew up watching wrestling and waiti...
