A wave of sadness washed over the electronic community when beloved electronic music trio NOISIΛ announced their impending split in late 2019. The iconic drum & bass group originally intended to call it quits at the end of 2020, but their farewell tour was postponed indefinitely due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. While many fans have been holding out hope that the time away would lead them to reconsider, NOISIΛ ultimately confirmed that the end is near. They’ve now announced their last-ever show in the UK’s capital, which will go down at the legendary Printworks on December 10th, 2021. Before that, the band will be stopping in Budapest, Toulouse, and San Bernardino for Escape Halloween, to name a few. Though the show is sadly coming to an e...
For most artists, a headlining set at Lollapalooza would mark a career highlight. But for ILLENIUM, it’s just par for the course. That’s not to say his performance wasn’t special, though. Hot on the heels of his historic “Trilogy” show in Las Vegas, which was a watershed moment in his career, ILLENIUM appeared on Lollapalooza’s Bud Light Seltzer Stage to perform a bubbly set (get it?) for his diehard fanbase. The show doubled as a homecoming for the bass music superstar, who was born in Chicago prior to a move to San Francisco. What can be said about this performance that hasn’t been said about ILLENIUM’s other 2021 shows? In what has been a remarkable year for the Fallen Embers producer, he seems to deliver unforgettable ...
The scourge of Fyre Festival lives on. A north London music festival called Metrofest has gone viral after being dubbed “Britain’s Fyre Festival.” The event’s organizers had promoted the “first ever festival dedicated to R&B and Hip Hop culture” which was to showcase “some of the scene’s most iconic figures.” However, reports of headliners bailing at the last minute and attendees wading around in mud have effectively besmirched the event, which took place on Sunday, August 8th. According to Daily Mail, many of the event’s 15,000 attendees, who had paid up to £95 (around $111 USD) for a pass, were left waiting in the rain for hours. Legions of those fans are now requesting refunds after Mya, Eve, Blackstreet and Tony ...
Dance musician Elderbrook emerged as somewhat of a dark horse in the electronic scene, popping into prominence in 2018 following a Grammy nod for his hit single “Cola” with CamelPhat. This is the project that solidified the versatile vocalist, songwriter and producer’s status as a go-to for bright, jam-ready music that will have you singing in your feels faster than you can say play. Elderbrook most recently made his way to Chicago’s Lollapalooza for a pair of shows primed to pull some of the weekend’s biggest audiences, relative to their stages and slots. To check out the buzz first hand, we made our way to Wicker Park’...

During a recent chat with Interview Under Fire, SEPULTURA frontman Derrick Green, who went vegetarian when he was just 15 years old, was asked if he has noticed veganism gaining momentum in the heavy metal community in recent years. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “No doubt. It’s definitely caught on more. It’s incredible how it has. I’ve noticed from festivals and shows that they’re catering more towards plant-based people in catering and having dishes that are tastier, healthier. And they’re really doing the research and homework and trying to have interesting dishes, not just the bland things of the past. They’re really doing the research and creating tasty dishes that are healthy. So a lot of times I’ve noticed [in cate...
Chicago health officials said the city’s Lollapalooza concert wasn’t a superspreader event for COVID-19, with only 203 cases being reported by attendees so far.
