The beer will premiere exclusively at this coming weekend’s Bloodstock Open Air festival. Halford, who celebrated the 35th anniversary of his getting sober in January, spoke to “Across The Board”, the podcast series hosted by songwriter/producer Emiko and producer Mike Exeter (JUDAS PRIEST, BLACK SABBATH), about how he manages to stay clean on the road. “It’s not easy,” he said. The announcement follows Reservoir Music’s recent $100 million USD acquisition deal of the De La Soul’s original label, Tommy Boy Records. The group’s iconic discography is set to be available this year. In an Instagram live, Trugoy the Dove said, “We have come to a deal between ourselves and Reservoir to release our music in 2021 — our catalog will be released this year, we are working diligently with the good folks at Reservoir, and we sat down with them and got it done pretty quickly actually. This week marks 50 years since the band recorded the 38-track set in six focused days at Nashville’s Woodland Sound Studios. Originally released on three vinyl discs in the fall of 1972, it never spawned any actual hit singles, though it did peak at No. 4 on Billboard‘s Top Country Albums chart. People heard about it through word-of-mouth, Dirt Band concerts and significant critical attention, given in great part because it was a grand experiment that managed to cross multiple gaps — generational, cultural, stylistic and geographical — in an era when America was divided by urban violence and the Vietnam War. “I have close friends that said, ‘You kind of helped bridge that gap between my dad and me; we would put this record on, have something in common,R...
Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo also celebrated Fall Out Boy’s return to the stage. “Fall Out Boy’s back! Very excited,” Cuomo announced during his band’s set. Noting that Weezer had played “Sugar, We’re Going Down” in their tourmates’ stead, he said, “I’m not gonna do that tonight. It would be weird. Plus, they sing it really awesome.” Wentz also had an answer for anyone who questions rock ‘n’ roll’s current drawing power. “We decided to challenge that theory and put together the biggest f—ing rock tour this summer,” he said of the Hella Mega outing. Looking over a crowd of more than 30,000, he noted that “it’s pretty f—ing evident the kids still listen to rock ‘n’ roll!” You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. Big Thief is back. The Brooklyn-by-way-of-Berklee indie-rock band released their first new music since their 2019 album Two Hands. The single, “Little Things” is a skittering love letter that takes place in New York City. Singer-guitarist Adrianne Lenker encompasses that big/small duality in the way her voice whittles a declaration of love into a mumble: “The little things I like about you/ How you say when you say what you do.” The song was recorded with Shawn Everett at Five Star Studios last October and features one of the band’s most inventive arrangements yet. “It’s in this sort of evolving free time signature where the beat is always changing, so Max [Oleartchik] and I were just flowing with it and guessing where the downbeats were, which gives the groove a really cool, light feeling...
