The Weeknd‘s “Blinding Lights” has officially tied with Imagine Dragons‘ “Radioactive” for most weeks spent on the Billboard Hot 100. The After Hours cut logged its 87th week on this week’s Hot 100 chart, moving up one space to No. 16. It first debuted at No. 11 on the chart dated December 14, 2019, then peaked at No. 1 for four weeks starting April 4, 2020. “Blinding Lights” has since then set a series of new Billboard records, including the longest-running entry in the Hot 100’s top five at 43 weeks, the top 10 at 57 weeks, the top 20 at 78 weeks and the top 40 at 83 weeks. The late King Von has posthumously released an accompanying music video for his Welcome to O’Block cut, “Demon.” The visual was filmed a week before his death in November 2020 and is his final self-conceptualized video. It ends with a voice memo King Von sent to his video directors, showing just how involved he was in the creative process of executing his own visual material. “Demon” was produced by his frequent collaborators Drew Filmed It and Blank Square Productions, and features the late artist looking back at the trauma he endured after witnessing his friend’s death. Bam Margera has filed a lawsuit against Paramount Pictures, MTV, Johnny Knoxville and more, alleging illegal dismissal from the upcoming Jackass Forever film. The lawsuit was filed by Margera and his loan-out company, Bam Margera Inc., in Los Angeles Superior Court. Billie Eilish has earned her second No. 1 album with Happier Than Ever, which would have topped the Billboard 200 based on vinyl sales alone. The LP moved 238,000 equivalent album units for the week ending August 5th, according to sales tracking company MRC Data. Of that total, 153,000 units were in pure album sales. Physical sales comprised 129,000, with 73,000 vinyl copies purchased. According to Billboard, Happier‘s vinyl sales mark the second-largest sales week in at least thirty years.
