Allan reportedly died on August 7th from an unspecified illness. He was 48 years old. News of Allan’s death was announced by Jackie Chan on his official website. “Many years ago while I was filming Mr. Nice Guy, he was just a fan and I remember him coming to visit the set,” wrote Chan in his eulogy. “At that time, he was crazy about Chinese Kung Fu and had practiced it for many years. It was because of his amazing skills and talent, he transformed from being a fan to a stuntman, and eventually joined my JC Stunt Team. He even fought with me in Gorgeous, and I think a lot of people remember thi...

Analog music instruments were rendered largely outdated by the 1960s, anachronistic just as the advent of electronics fundamentally changed what music could be virtually overnight. With the creation of new instruments there comes new conduits to summon new sounds it taps into from the beyond, playing and teasing sonics into novel shapes, sizes and textures previously impossible. And no, I’m not talking about the synthesizer. There existed an earlier, more obscure electronic instrument, called the theremin. It was accidentally invented by Russian physicist Léon Theremin in 1919 while he was attempting to engineer proximity sensor devices for the Soviet government. His experiment was unsuccessful in what it sought to achieve, but its byproduct surpassed any other possible outcome, inte...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Raymond Hall / Getty Rihanna has been taking her sweet time when it comes to making new music, and we totally understand why now. The financial bible Forbes reported earlier this week that Rihanna is now a billionaire, making her the richest female musician and second richest female entertainer only behind Oprah Winfrey. Since the announcement, Rihanna has been very mum about the accomplishment but finally broke her silence when pressed by photographers about what it means to be a “self-made billionaire.” Before going on her merry way, the singer told the paparazzi, “God is good.” You...
HipHopWired Featured Video Source: K Woods Foundation / K Woods Foundation The Wu-Tang Clan might’ve been able to make it out of Park Hill in Staten Island. But unfortunately, not many other residents can go on to become Hip-Hop icons like the killer bees. But the foundation can’t do it on their own and are hoping the culture lends a hand and donates to their GoFundMe in order to get the ball rolling and bouncing on the court in the rugged lands of Shaolin. “The K Woods Foundation is dedicated to youth development and building community through teamwork and leadership. I am writing these words from the corner into which Facebook has exiled me, for allegedly offending “community standards.” Witness this shocking announcement that popped onto my screen yesterday morning: ” Your account is restricted for 3 days. Your previous posts didn’t follow our Community Standards,so you can’t do things like post or comment.” They claim that three of my commentaries broke their rules, but fail to specify which. (Only three, I wonder?) My guess is the one expressing my opinion that those convicted of January 6th insurrection crimes should not receive token sentences — two days on a work farm; “community service” sweeping parking lots. Like all traitors who attempt the violent overthrow of our Constitution, they deserve severe penalties, up to and including executio...
