The next chapter for the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime has just been officially revealed. Titled JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, this story takes place 10 years after the events of Golden Wind where Jolyne Cujoh, the first female “JoJo,” is sent to prison for a crime she didn’t commit. Through the trailer, we see that she gets a visit from her father Jotaro Kujo as he attempts to spring her from jail while awakening her string-based stand, Stone Free. The anime will faithfully capture Hirohiko Araki‘s manga version which ran on Weekly Shonen Jump from 2000 to 2003 for a total of 17 volumes. Produced once again by David Production, fans can expect JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean to release on Netflix this coming December. Check out the official trailer above. In other entertai...
After its announcers struggled to identify and pronounce “Gundam” during a speed climbing event, BBC Sport posted an image showing the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam statue on Twitter over the weekend. But the caption accompanying the photo received some unwanted attention from fans of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise as the 2020 Tokyo Olympics came to an end. Reading “Just when you thought speed climbing was frightening enough, you now need to impress a Transformer too at #Tokyo2020!,” many were quick to point out how wrong the statement was. The BBC‘s sports platform had thought that the lifesize RX-0 Unicorn Gundam located in Tokyo’s Odaiba district was a Transformer. The tweet received 2.2K comments, 20.3K retweets and 20.5K likes from fans pointing out the obvious mistake. Following the response...

Jon Stewart and Pete Davidson are joining forces to host a comedy event in New York City benefitting several 9/11 charities. The special, titled NYC Still Rising After 20 Years: A Comedy Celebration, will feature a slew of top-shelf comedians, including Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr, Colin Jost, Tom Segura, Wanda Sykes, Colin Quinn, Dave Attell, Jay Pharoah, Jimmy Fallon, John Mulaney, Ronny Chieng, Michael Che, and Amy Schumer on September 12 at Madison Square Garden. “We wanted to put on a fun celebration to honor this great city’s resilience,” Stewart and Davidson said in a joint statement. “It’s nice to be able to do this with friends and people we love.” Both comedians have personal connections to the 2001 terrorist attack’s devastation — Davidson’s father Scott Matthew Davidson, a New Yo...
On Sunday (August 8), the 2020 Tokyo Olympics came to a close. Luckily, the Jonas Brothers couldn’t have brought a more perfect performance for the occasion with their upbeat hit single “Remember This.” As the band played, a montage of highlights from the Olympics simultaneously played over the brothers singing from a rooftop. It was broadcast on NBC as part of the closing ceremony. “Used to pray for a moment just like this / There’s a fire in your eyes I can’t resist / Baby, we’re gonna wanna remember this / Baby, we’re gonna wanna remember this,” they sang. “I can taste the forever on your lips / There’s a lifetime livin’ inside that kiss / Baby, we’re gonna wanna remember this / Baby, we’re gonna wanna remember this.” On Instagram, Nick pr...
The Pitch: When we first meet the quote-unquote “Reservation Dogs,” a tight-knit gang of four Indigenous teens growing up in northeast Oklahoma, they’re making off with a stolen spicy chip delivery truck. It’s a risky, exciting gamble — they relish the danger of it more than the profit potential, right down to not wearing seatbelts — that should take them closer to their goal: saving up enough money to move away to California. The rez, they posit, killed their close friend Daniel a year ago, and they want to take his spirit with them when they finally escape. But amid the petty crimes and odd jobs they’ll take to scare up the scratch to leave, they’ll navigate the myriad pains everyone feels growing up, with the specific concerns and anxieties of Native American life — generational tr...
The Grammy-winning, multiplatinum-selling singer has denied any wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty to charges accusing him of leading an enterprise of managers, bodyguards and other employees who helped him recruit women and girls for sex. Federal prosecutors say the group selected victims at concerts and other venues and arranged for them to travel to see Kelly. Defense lawyers have said Kelly’s alleged victims were groupies who turned up at his shows and made it known they “were dying to be with him.” They only started accusing him of abuse years later when public sentiment shifted in the #MeToo era, they said. The trial had been expected to start earlier in the year. But opening statements were moved to Aug. 18 after Kelly fired his original defense team. Jurors are expect...
Tag, Orlando, you’re not it. The couple that posts together stays together. Or so Katy Perry says. The singer and American Idol judge playfully dinged longtime love and fianceé Orlando Bloom over the weekend when he made a serious social media faux pas while the pair were on a what looked like an otherwise lovely get-away in Capri, Italy. Bloom posted a carousel with 10 images from their luxury vacay with the emoji-filled caption, “When the moon hits your eye like a big pizzapie That’s amore ❤️When the world seems to shine✨ like you’ve had too much wine That’s amore ❤️.” It was a sweet post from the 44 year-old actor, with a selfie in which he smiles with the beautiful coast in the background, a shot of him chillin...
At press time a spokesperson for the band could not be reached for comment about what led to the tour’s cancelation. “Unfortunately tonight’s Limp Bizkit show at Stone Pony Summer Stage has been postponed,” the venue wrote on Facebook just hours before the show was slated to take place, promising that a new date will be announced “shortly.” According to Rolling Stone, singer Fred Durst posted an Instagram Story shortly after the scotched Pony show to dispel rumors that guitarist Wes Borland was having health issues. “Let us be clear: 1. Wes Borland does not have Covid. 2. The system is seriously flawed,” Durst wrote. “3. We don’t care much about the BS… We care a lot about you… Dad vibes coming soon.” Borland also reportedly denied the rumors in his own S...
How was Record Store Day? Much, much better than June. That wouldn’t take a whole lot, but it went smoothly. There were very few hiccups. There were a couple of titles from June that were bumped to July that the distributor missed, but I caught that early enough thanks to some of my coalition friends who I quickly asked, “Do have these titles?” And they all resoundingly answered yes, and so I realized I had a problem and they were able to fix it. So that was good. And compared to June, it was a minor blip. It sounds like everything went really well. Were you able to do sort of the full enchilada, in the sense of offering all the fun stuff for people waiting in line? For both the June and July date we poured beer and we had either doughnuts or bacon outside, so that was de...

Two years after Tyler, the Creator and DJ Khaled‘s showdown on the Billboard 200, the IGOR artist shared that his album’s victory was similar to “just watching a man die inside.” Speaking to Ebro Darden, Laura Stylez and Peter Rosenberg in a recent HOT 97 interview, Tyler reflected on the record’s debut and the term Khaled used to supposedly describe IGOR. “Bro that Khaled thing was like, it was fun, it was just watching a man die inside,” he said. “The weirdo was winning, I was moonwalking in a wig. This n***a had everyone on his album. Everyone.” “For some guy like that to kind of indirectly be like, ‘That ain’t real rap, that ain’t real Black music.’ That’s what it felt like,” he added, referring to Khaled’s statements in a now-deleted video that heard him seemingly call IGOR “mysteriou...
