Resurrected Florida Death Metallers MASSACRE To Release New Album ‘Resurgence’ In October

Florida death metal veterans MASSACRE will release their fourth full-length album, “Resurgence”, on October 22 via Nuclear Blast. The official visualizer for the LP’s first single, “The Innsmouth Strain”, can be seen below. Commenting on the upcoming album and new single, vocalist Kam Lee states: “It’s all about Lovecraft, isn’t it? Honesty though, aesthetically MASSACRE needed two main things to return to be proper. A) The return to the core roots of O.S.D.M. (Old School Death Metal) style death metal that late ’80s, early ’90s sound. Musically, the record has to retain that nostalgic retro style. B) To return to the lyrical aesthetics laden with influences heavily drawn from the stories and fictional mythos that is all Lovecraft...

The documentary contains interviews with the GWAR bandmembers, both past and present, as well as other artists, including Weird Al Yankovic, Thomas Lennnon, Alex Winter, Bam Margera and Ethan Embry, including never-before-seen footage of legendary GWAR frontman Dave Brockie. THE WINERY DOGS Have ‘About Eight Or 10 Things Ready To Go’ For Next Studio Album

In a new interview with Tulsa Music Stream, legendary bassist Billy Sheehan (MR. BIG, TALAS, DAVID LEE ROTH) spoke about the upcoming third album from THE WINERY DOGS, his power trio with guitarist/vocalist Richie Kotzen and drummer Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD). Asked if the band is still writing material for the follow-up to 2015’s “Hot Streak” or if it has begun recording, Sheehan said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “A little of both, but it’s mostly writing. We write like people used to write in the old days: the band gets together in a room and we start figuring things out. And I love it that way as opposed to getting outside writers or having one guy be the writer and everybody plays his songs. So we work together as a band quite...

Ed Sheeran to Perform at NFL 2021 Kickoff Experience in Tampa

Ed Sheeran is an avowed football fan, but next month the Ipswitch Town FC shirt sponsor will be on the sidelines rooting for the men in pads and helmets as part of the kick-off to the upcoming NFL season. The league announced on Friday (Aug. 6) that Sheeran will be part of the 2021 Kickoff Experience ahead of the season opening game between the Dallas Cowboys and defending Super Bowl champs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 9. Sheeran posted a video teaser to accompany the announcement, in which he takes a seat on a couch with Dallas QB Dak Prescott and Bucs QB Tom Brady’s jerseys hanging on a rack behind him. “Someone sent me these jerseys and now this is happening…” reads the caption to the clip, in which keeps hearing the NFL theme song every time he cracks open ...

Can Festivals Really Come Back? What’s Next After Lollapalooza

Since it became clear that Lollapalooza would be the first major multigenre U.S. festival since the start of the pandemic, promoters hoped it would kick off a shortened but vital festival season, with Bonnaroo, Governors Ball and Firefly scheduled to follow in September. But circumstances have changed as another wave of COVID-19 cases spreads — along with fears that festivals could become super-spreader events. In Chicago, one source tells Billboard that, as Lollapalooza approached, promoters grew nervous that public health officials would impose limits on the event’s capacity. Live Nation and rival AEG have already worked out a compromise with the major talent agencies in case other festivals are forced to cancel. If that happens 30 to 60 days before the event, the promoter only has to pa...

Composer John Murphy Returns to the Big Screen With The Suicide Squad

Look, Suicide Squad was bad. We’re not pointing fingers at anyone in particular for why the 2016 movie didn’t work, but it just didn’t. The movie couldn’t even be saved by classic dialog like “This is Katana. She’s got my back. I would advise not getting killed by her. Her sword traps the souls of its victims.” Conversely, The Suicide Squad, is quite a good time. We won’t spoil any of it for those who haven’t seen it yet, but James Gunn is clearly made for offbeat superhero movies, and punk rocker-turned-composer John Murphy (28 Days Later, Kick-Ass, Snatch) reminded everyone that he’s still one of the best in the industry. The movie is out today both on HBO Max and in theaters, and ahead of it, SPIN spoke with Murphy on Zoom about both the new release and some of his previous greatest hit...

Kanye’s YZY SND Debuts ABSTRACT MINDSTATE Comeback Album ‘Dreams Still Inspire’

Thirteen years after the group broke up, MCs E.P Da Hellcat and Olskool Ice-Gre have returned with the comeback album Dreams Still Inspire. West produced every track on the LP, marking it as the first he’s fully produced work that is not his own since Common’s Be in 2005, and arrives with a diverse lineup of features from West himself, alongside Jonquia Rose, Luka Sabbat, Tony Williams and Deon Cole. Mindstate formed in the late 1990s and collaborated with West on beats for its debut LP We Paid Let Us In! in 2001 but never released a sophomore album after facing obstacles in the industry. Meanwhile, some fans have observed that it sounds like West was inspired by MINDSTATE on the flo...

Surprise! Snooki Just Popped Out Of JWOWW’s Bday Cake On Jersey Shore

If JWOWW’s engagement to Zack wasn’t gift enough for her 35th birthday, Deena’s “crazy surprise” [23:30] in the form of one very beloved meatball should do the trick. Tonight’s episode saw Snooki’s epic return (again) to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation — this time, surprising the fam at their cozy resort in the sticks in the Poconos. “Jenni has no idea I am coming here for her birthday,” Snooki shared. Deena couldn’t wait either and wore her “Meatball Problems” T-shirt in honor of her pal’s big arrival. Their grand surprise plan? Stuffing Snooki inside a giant fake cake and serving it up over breakfast. “It’s a big day! First on the agenda, we have to figure out how we...
