In a recent interview with Guitar Wishes, former MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman John Corabi, who joined the band in 1992 as the replacement for original singer Vince Neil, discussed some of the lessons he has learned from his three decades in the music business. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “When money comes to play, in between a relationship, when money becomes whatever, you really find out who your friends are. People, you can be great friends with ’em, but ‘it’s just business,’ is the line you hear all the time. “I did a few things early on in my career with contracts and different things, thinking, ‘We’re bros, man. They’ll never screw me over,’ just assuming that everybody would look at it the way I look at it. People ...
THE ROLLING STONES drummer Charlie Watts won’t be able to join his bandmates on their fall USA tour. The 80-year-old musician was planning to take part in the “No Filter” trek, which is scheduled to kick off on September 26 in St. Louis. Filling in for him will be his “great friend” Steve Jordan. “Charlie has had a procedure which was completely successful,” a spokesperson the group said in a statement, “but I gather his doctors this week concluded that he now needs proper rest and recuperation. With rehearsals starting in a couple of weeks it’s very disappointing to say the least, but it’s also fair to say no one saw this coming.” “For once my timing has been a little off,” Watts added. “I am working hard ...
Showtime has released the official trailer for Bitchin’: the Sound and Fury of Rick James. Directed by Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men‘s Sacha Jenkins, the documentary is billed as “an intimate yet propulsive look at Rick James, one of rock, funk and R&B’s most legendary and often under-appreciated figures.” Its trailer begins with an example of James’ need for honesty in his music — something fans truly appreciate — and words from the likes of Ice Cube, Bootsy Collins and more, who comment on the parallels of the late artist’s music and history, as well as his drug abuse and the allegations of sexual misconduct. “The ‘wild’ side of Rick James often eclipses his musical genius, but the mathematical equation that is his life depends on all of the numbers to make a whole,” Jenkins aid...

The coronavirus pandemic and accompanying shutdown of the live music industry have masked many of the problems created by Brexit for the live-music sector. And fears have lingered about extra customs checks and performers and crews requiring visa and work permits for when European touring does resume. According to a survey conducted by the Musicians’ Union and Incorporated Society of Musicians in April and May, 77% of U.K. musicians expected their earnings in Europe to decrease when touring resumes due to additional Brexit-related red tape and touring costs. In January, over 100 acts, including Elton John, Ed Sheeran and Radiohead, signed an open letter to the British government saying it had “shamefully failed” them with the EU trade deal that was finalized on Dec. 24 by not s...
Gomez herself called out the “tasteless” joke on Tuesday after her fans brought it to her attention on social media. “I am not sure how writing jokes about organ transplants for television shows has become a thing but sadly it has apparently,” she wrote. “I hope in the next writer’s room when one of these tasteless jokes are presented it’s called out immediately and doesn’t make it on air.” She went on to thank fans for always having her back and also urged followers to become organ donors and provided a link to sign up. Selenators blasted The Good Fight (a spin-off of CBS’ The Good Wife) for a joke in its new season about Gomez’s 2017 kidney transplant, not even a year after Peacock’s Saved by the Bell&nbs...
