Blumhouse and David Gordon Green have spent the past year quietly working on a new movie in The Exorcist universe. Now, it’s been revealed that the two are planning to create a full-fledged trilogy — and Universal has just purchased the rights to it for a whopping $400 million. “Netflix, I choose you!” As Variety reports, The Pokémon Company has struck a deal with Netflix to develop a new live-action series along the lines of… gulp… Pokémon Detective Pikachu. The show is in the early stages of development. While few details are known, this adaptation of the beloved video game/card game/anime empire will be helmed by Joe Henderson, who is currently the co-showrunner of the Netflix series Lucifer. A new live-action Pokémon series is in early development at Netflix, according to Variety. Though there are no details on the show’s plot as it is still in its early stages, the outlet’s sources said that Joe Henderson — current co-showrunner and executive producer on Netflix’s highly-acclaimed series Lucifer — is attached to the upcoming Pokémon project as a writer and executive producer.
