Gary Rossington, the last surviving original member of Lynyrd Skynyrd, recently underwent emergency heart surgery. The legendary Southern rock act announced the news after the guitarist missed the band’s recent concerts. Rossington was with Lynyrd Skynyrd when they resumed their long-running farewell tour in June, following 15 months off the road due to the pandemic. However, he hadn’t been onstage with the band for their latest gigs. The guitarist has had a history of heart issues in recent years, suffering a heart attack in 2015 and undergoing quintuple bypass surgery. That was followed by having his heart valve repaired in 2019. He once told Tampa Bay Times, “I’ve had heart attacks on stage a lot.” Advertisement Related Video The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame act explained Rossington’s a...
Robert Fripp has already embarked on a summer U.S. tour with his legendary UK prog-rock band King Crimson, but that hasn’t put a stop to the guitarist’s viral “Sunday Lunch” performances with his wife, Toyah Willcox. The pair apparently filmed some advance episodes in their kitchen, beginning with today’s cover of The Who’s “My Generation.” Per usual, Toyah goes with a skimpy outfit, this time a white shirt that somehow doesn’t pop all the way open despite being held together by a little red clasp. Vocally, she delivers a raspy take on The Who’s classic 1965 track, adding some additional punk flavor to what could be argued is one of the earliest punk songs ever recorded. Fripp is back to his proper vest-and-tie look, while still sporting the mohawk that he featured in previous performances...
HipHopWired Featured Video Oh, so y’all thought Lil Nas X giving Satan a lap dance was hard on your eyes? Wait till you see what he’s like when he’s locked up in prison with men who claim the Devil made them do it. Looking to push the envelope in his latest visuals to “Industry Baby,” Lil Nas X finds himself sentenced to three years in prison, but instead of doing hard time he finds himself turning out the joint and even leading a choreographed naked dance number in the shower with fellow inmates. Expect conservatives to wig out over this one too. Elsewhere Belly links up with The Weeknd and Young Thug to ride through the night in some exotic whips before setting the city a blaze in their clip to “Better Believe.” Pretty impressive CGI effects. An anthem for the underdogs, “Industry Baby,” is set in the fictitious Montero State Prison. A prelude video to “Industry Baby” had Lil Nas X again playing multiple characters, being sentenced in connection with the Nike lawsuit. HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Kevork Djansezian / Getty For comic book fans, a Black Superman is nothing new. But actor Michael B. Jordan is developing a Black Superman project that will surely bring the concept more visibility since it will be for HBO Max if all goes to plan. The OG Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster has an eventual origin story that pegs the big blue-eyed farm boy as an alien refugee from the doomed planet Krypton and has him appearing as a typical, but cock-diesel, white guy from Kansas. The aesthetic has carried on to the big and little screen mostly, see: Christopher Reeves in 1978’s Superman or Henry Cavill in 2013’s Man Of Steel, for example. Thanks to the concept of multiverses there has been a “Black” Superman in the DC Comics Universe. Collider...

Welcome to the LOVE ERA!” The “love era” is a reference to the music mogul’s latest name change, which occurred in May when he revealed his new legal middle name to be “Love.” The upcoming record marks Diddy’s first release since his debut 2015 mixtape MMM (Money Making Mitch), which featured artists including Travis Scott, Future, Lil’ Kim, Big Sean, Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa and several others. The rapper has not put out a full album since 2010’s Last Train to Paris. As “Vol. 1” is tacked onto the upcoming album’s title, it’s safe to assume we can expect at least one...

Netflix stated that the docuseries will be mainly about “the South Florida traffickers indicated in one of the largest drug cases in U.S. history.” The Kings of Miami dives deeper into the stories of Cuban exiles Salvador “Sal” Magluta and Augusto “Willy” Falcon. Both Sal and Willy were supposedly America’s greatest distributors for Colombia’s biggest drug cartels.
