PsoGnar Unveils Haunting Electro-Rock Track “Vampire”

Back with his second release of the year, PsoGnar has unveiled a dark and haunting electronic rock anthem called “Vampire.”  Known for his rock-infused dubstep and heavy bass music, PsoGnar’s latest offering is a slight departure from his usual sound. In “Vampire,” he intentionally omitted blistering bass drops and instead opted for a synth-laden rock soundscape “’Vampire’ is energetic, catchy, poetic, and tells a story as many of my tracks do,” PsoGnar explained in a press release. Like many of his previous works, “Vampire” is rife with story-driven lyricism that enables his listener to be filled with vivid imagery, transporting them to another time and place. Integrating his songwritng skills, “Vampire” ...

15 Minute Live Performances: AJ Smith

This week’s edition of 15 Minute Live Performances features rising singer-songwriter AJ Smith. Earlier this year, we got a glimpse into what a day in the life of Smith was like and on top of being wildly entertaining (quite fun), Smith has got some serious musical chops. Don’t believe us? Well, you may take the words of a little band called the Eagles or some up-and-comer named Billy Joel a bit more seriously. Smith has earned plaudits from both rock legends and converted many believers, young and old, that he’s on the brink. Born in Denver, before having a cup of coffee in Nashville before moving to New York City, Smith is a classically-trained multi-instrumentalist who served with the National Symphony Orchestra. Not just a musician, Smith had ambitions to be an ...

Lil Nas X Claps Back at ‘Industry Baby’ Criticism & Comparison to ‘Montero’ Video

“I’m happy he’s found Christ but there’s so much compromise,” the Twitter user wrote, referring to the direction ‘Ye’s music has taken since his back-to-back 2019 gospel projects Jesus Is King and Jesus Is Born, the latter of which is credited to the Sunday Service Choir. “And then to find out that he helped produce that demonic sonf/video that Lil Nas X made is so upsetting.” But the 22-year-old rapper shut that down immediately by responding, “There was nothing demonic about the industry baby video. just say u hate gay people musty.” LNX was also surprised to find out that people took issue with his latest video, which in one widely discussed scene depicts a group of naked men dancing in a prison shower...

First Stream Latin: New Music From Gloria Trevi & Guaynaa, Myke Towers, More

Tommy Torres, El Playlist de Anoche (Rimas Entertainment) For his first album in almost a decade, Tommy Torres teamed up with Bad Bunny to co-produce and co-write the nine tracks on El Playlist de Anoche. Torres and Bunny may not have a lot of things in common but both are very intentional with the music they write; they want their fans to feel via lyrics that are packed with tangible emotions. The pair does just that with this set that touches on love and heartbreak where Torres remains true to his signature alt rock-tinged, sentimental pop but integrates a rock star attitude after learning how to phrase the way Bunny does. The eclectic set kicks off with the sentimental pop track “Toda La Noche” – the only song on the album where you’ll hear Bunny as he sets the mood for the guitar-power...

The Joy Formidable Announce US Tour, Share New Single “Interval”: Stream

There’s less than a month to go until The Joy Formidable release their new album Into the Blue on August 20th. To tide fans over until then, the Welsh alt-rockers have just dropped “Interval,” a gripping new single from the record, and they’ve also announced 2021 US tour dates. Whereas their last album, 2018’s AAARTH, dipped into electronic elements at times, The Joy Formidable return to their heady rock roots on this new single. “Interval” quickly grabs the reigns with a thick bassline before singer Rhiannon “Ritzy” Bryan’s vocals enter the frame. Although it sounds relatively controlled and tempered in the first half, it’s clear that “Interval” is building tension early on — and, as such, it eventually explodes in track’s final fuzz-filled minutes. Stream it below. This is the final sing...

Arlo Parks Tests Positive for COVID-19

Arlo Parks has tested positive for COVID-19. The UK singer-songwriter and former Artist of the Month said she found out this morning and has been quarantining at home ever since. Parks took to Twitter this morning to break the news, allegedly right after she got her results. “Despite being as careful as possible, I’m writing to let you know that I tested positive for COVID-19 this morning,” she wrote. “As recommended, I’m now stuck in isolation, sniffling in bed, feeling very upset to have let all you angels down.” “This weekend had three shows in store: a Norwich outstore show, Latitude, and Standon Calling — I had butterflies in my tummy weeks in advance just picturing what it would be like to see your faces again,” she continued. “I’m so sorry to everybody who was looking forward to see...

Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood’s New Album as The Smile Is Finished, “Not a Rock Record”

Here’s news that will leave you grinning: According to longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood have completed their new album under the moniker The Smile. And despite the rocking preview they offered during a Glastonbury livestream in May, Godrich insists it’s “not a rock record.” Godrich has been described as Radiohead’s sixth member, and since he’s also produced Yorke’s solo work and side project Atoms for Peace, it’s no surprise to find him behind the boards of The Smile. In a new interview with The Coda Collection, he dropped a few hints about this “not a rock record,” saying, “It’s an interesting juxtaposition of things, but it does make sense. It will make sense.” Elsewhere, he heaped praise on the project’s drummer Tom Skinner. “He’s a gre...
