Two Former Sex Pistols Sue John Lydon over Music Licensing in Danny Boyle Miniseries
Two former Sex Pistols — guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook — are suing John “Johnny Rotten” Lydon for blocking the licensing of the group’s music for Danny Boyle’s Sex Pistols miniseries. Pistol is a six-episode limited series that’s been adapted from Jones’ 2017 memoir Lonely Boy: Tales From a Sex Pistol. It’s been causing tension among the onetime bandmates ever since it was announced, and while legal action isn’t a surprise, the direction of it is. In April, it was Lydon who threatened to sue, called the decision not to hire him as a consultant “disrespectful.” His attempts to curmudgeon his way into a check didn’t work, and he’s now trying to grind the production to a halt by refusing to grant permission for the group’s songs. Antonio Banderas Joins Indiana Jones 5
Proving once again that archeology is the most handsome science, Antonio Banderas has signed onto Indiana Jones 5 (via Deadline). The 60-year-old actor joins a stacked cast that includes Indy himself Harrison Ford, as well as Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelson. James Mangold takes over the directing chair from Steven Spielberg, while John Williams returns as composer. The production has faced the occasional setback, as when Ford injured his shoulder. But even so, the movie’s expected to swing its way into theaters on July 29th, 2022. There’s no word yet on whether Banderas will be friend or foe. ‘Pokémon Unite’ Team Battle Is Launching on Nintendo Switch
The Pokémon Company has announced that its team-based battle game, Pokémon Unite is hitting the Nintendo Switch later this month. This is the franchise’s first team-based battle game and it is set to allow up to ten players to participate in five-on-five real-time matchups. Each team has to work through accomplishing five goals that they would use to cat Pokémons and score additional points. The Pokémon caught can learn attacks and level up and of course be used to defeat other Pokémon. Each Pokémon also has its own special Unite move that can be unlocked throughout gameplay.
