‘Battlefield 2042’ Cross-Play Won’t Be Cross-Generation

Battlefield 2042 has confirmed that its cross-play feature will be split between console generations. In a new blog post answering some of the most frequently asked questions from fans of the franchise, EA and Dice revealed that cross-play for the game will only function across same-generation consoles, meaning those with the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC will be able to match up against each other, while those still on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be restricted to their own cross-play ecosystem. While EA didn’t provide specific reasoning in the article about the split, it’s most likely because previous-gen consoles will have lobbies restricted to 64 players, while the modern generation will all be able to run 128-player matches. Special Pikachu Cards Revealed in Celebration of Pokémon TCG’s 25th Anniversary

The Pokémon Company has revealed a special set of Pikachu cards in celebration of the company’s 25th anniversary. The Pokémon TCGs are reminding fans that there can never be too many Pikachu. The trading cards feature the famous electric mouse mascot in an array of never-before-seen designs. Seven Pikachu cards are officially part of the 25th Anniversary Collection. Three of those cards are updated versions of older cards, however, they feature updated art and abilities. Late on Tuesday (July 13), the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records filed a summons in the Manhattan Supreme Court in New York City alleging that Shawn Carter, better known as Jay-Z for transferring the streaming rights of the Reasonable Doubt album to a company called S. Carter Enterprises LLC without proper authorization. Jay-Z is listed as the sole owner of the company. According to the filing, Dash is seeking at least $1 million in damages. Earlier this year, Steven Spielberg unveiled plans to produce a semi-autobiographical movie “loosely based on his childhood,” likely set to land on Netflix in 2022.
