Hear JACK RUSSELL’S GREAT WHITE’s Cover Version Of LED ZEPPELIN’s ‘Whole Lotta Love’

The year was 1998 when hard rock icons GREAT WHITE released “Great Zeppelin: A Tribute To Led Zeppelin”, an electrifying live album that found GREAT WHITE frontman Jack Russell stepping into the vocal shoes of ZEPPELIN singer Robert Plant for a phenomenal full-length celebration of that British band’s long lasting influence on Russell and company. The album quickly became a fan favorite and proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that Russell possessed one of the most powerful voices in rock music. Since that time, over 20 years later, fans have been clamoring for a follow-up and now JACK RUSSELL’S GREAT WHITE is ready to deliver. “Great Zeppelin II: A Tribute To Led Zeppelin” is the long-awaited sequel that rocks even harder than its predecessor and include...

Pop Superstar ED SHEERAN Is ‘Not Opposed To’ Making Death Metal Album

Ed Sheeran says that he might record a death metal album. The 30-year-old singer/songwriter, who is one of the most successful musicians on the planet, floated the possibility of exploring a more extreme musical path while speaking to The Sun on Sunday’s Bizarre column. He said: “I was really into death metal as a kid. I listened to CRADLE OF FILTH and SLIPKNOT and all that stuff. I’m not saying I could ever step into that world. I learnt all those riffs on guitar as a kid. That’s something I’ve never thought about doing — but something I would not be opposed to creating.” Sheeran had previously dabbled in a variety of genres, including rock, dance, rap and reggae. After The Sun published Sheeran‘s comments, CRADLE OF FILTH frontman Dani Filth post...

POISON’s RIKKI ROCKETT Tests Positive For COVID-19 After Being Fully Vaccinated

POISON‘s Rikki Rockett has tested positive for the novel coronavirus after being vaccinated. The 59-year-old drummer, who lives outside Los Angeles, revealed his positive diagnosis in a video message shared on his social media earlier today. He said in part (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I was diagnosed, or got a positive test… My son and I stayed in the camper on Friday. On Saturday, he came down with symptoms. So Saturday afternoon, I took him to the urgent care and we had him tested. The doctor said, ‘It’s 50/50. We don’t know.’ Sunday, we got the call that he was positive. On Monday, I went in and got tested. It came back negative, ’cause I was a day early. And I got the results on Tuesday. By then, I was having symptoms. And so I went ...

Songs Of Loss And Separation – TIMES OF GRACE

RATING: 7/10 A decade has passed since the release of the first TIMES OF GRACE album, but chief protagonists ADAM D and JESSE LEACH have the unassailable excuse of having been otherwise occupied with a resurgent KILLSWITCH ENGAGE during that period. In truth, this was always a low-key project, at least in the sense that it seeks to explore the darker limits of Leach‘s lyrics and, as showcased on debut “The Hymn of a Broken Man”, a more purposefully esoteric and adventurous musical approach than that high-profile day job arguably allows. The difference between the first TIMES OF GRACE record and this, its long-awaited follow-up, is immediately and abundantly apparent, however. Where the debut seemed to take the KILLSWITCH blueprint as a starting point, infusing that famili...

Foot Meet Mouth: Stephen A. Smith Apologizes For Insensitive Jab Made Towards Asian MLB Star Shohei Ohtani

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Kyle Cooper/Colorado Rockies / Getty Stephen A. Smith is in the opinion business like many other sports media figures, and that sometimes leads to an utterance or two that should’ve remained unsaid. The ESPN personality came under fire for suggesting Asian MLB star Shohei Ohtani hire an interpreter when addressing the media but has since apologized for the insensitive remarks. Shohei “Shotime” Ohtani was the subject of discussion during a recent episode of First Take when Smith made the observation that despite the fandom surrounding Ohtani, he believed that the fact the star pitcher and outfielder’s lack of speaking English hurts the game. “When you talk about an audience gravitating to the tube or to the ballpark to actually watch you, OK, I don’t think...

A Breakdown of Wizkid’s Billboard Chart Achievements

It is no longer news that Wizkid’s latest single “Essence” featuring Tems from his album Made In Lagos has become a global summer anthem and a viral international hit. The massive streams, airplay all over the world, reposts from celebrities worldwide, social media engagements, etc. over the past few weeks have prompted Wizkid to add another chart record to his collection. This is as big as it gets but it doesn’t even end there. The album Made In Lagos is still growing as in this same chart week on Billboard 200 album chart, Wizkid‘s Made In Lagos re-entered the chart at #147 after previously peaking at #80 back in November 2020. Korea’s New COVID-19 Rules Restrict the BPM of Music in Gyms

In a wave of new COVID-19 regulations impacting gyms, the South Korean government has restricted what type of music patrons will be allowed to listen to.  In a move that many perceive to be a blatant overreach, officials are setting the expectation that gyms will not be allowed to play music over 120 BPM (beats per minute) for group fitness classes. That leaves slim pickings for electronic music fans looking to get in the flow during a workout. The new restriction ostensibly impacts group cardio, aerobics, and spin classes, where invigorating music plays an important role. The regulation is especially counterintuitive given that higher BPM songs generally play a critical role in setting an appropriately brisk group fitness pace, thereby leading to productive workouts.  As Reuters...

Don Krez Opens Up About His New Single, Post-Pandemic Mindset, and Love for His Fans

Electronic music artist Don Krez is primed for a year as roaring as his new single, the heavy-hitting trap banger “Bernie Sanders.” Having worked with the likes of Ski Mask The Slump God, Smokepurpp, and the late XXXTENTACION, among other major hip-hop artists, Krez is no stranger to heavy-hitting sonics. “Bernie Sanders” belongs on the mainstage, a head-banging ode to the politician and inspired by the ubiquitous “Cold Bernie” meme. The track kicks off with haunting keys, which sound as if they were plucked out of a Chucky film. They lead into an eerie bassline, which eventually builds and culminates in a robust trap trap that turns back the clock to the genre’s SoundCloud boom of yesteryear. We caught up with Krez about the in...

180,000 Ravers Partied at EXIT Festival Over the Weekend

EXIT Festival made history over the weekend as Europe’s first major music festival since the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic—and 180,000 people were there to witness it. The festival’s momentous 20th anniversary edition, which has been forced to postpone due to the impact of the virus, featured David Guetta, Charlotte de Witte, Nina Kraviz, Solomun, Amelie Lens, Maceo Plex, and many more. Besides the complex planning it takes to host a festival of this magnitude, organizers also had to navigate erratic health and safety regulations. The fact that they expected guests from 70 countries also complicated the situation. In accordance with the “Safe Events Serbia” protocol, attendees were required to provide a negative PCR test or...

Halsey Announces Feature Film to Accompany New Album, Premieres Trailer: Watch

Next month, Halsey will release her highly anticipated new album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. As it turns out the pop star has also been working on a coinciding feature film of the same name to accompany the record. She just released a gothic trailer for it, which you can watch below. Similarly dubbed If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, the film is written by Halsey and directed by Colin Tilley, her frequent collaborator who helmed the music videos for “Without Me” and “You Should Be Sad.” The movie is billed as “an hour-long film experience set to the music of her upcoming album” and, based on this new clip, looks rather brooding and intense. The film trailer opens on a number of knights trotting on horses, torches in hand, towards an eerie castle while text takes over the screen. ...
