Arcade1Up Announces New ‘Street Fighter II’ and ‘Turtles in Time’ Home Arcade Machines
Purveyor of old-school arcade games Arcade1Up has presented its two latest home arcade cabinets — one of which features Street Fighter II, the other of which supplies Turtles In Time, a classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. Both games are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, so either choice is an apt one for the die-hard arcade gamer or ’80s baby who grew up dumping endless amounts of quarters into arcade machines. Each game is three-fourths the size of a full-size arcade machine, providing most of the same big and bold experience with less of the bulk. Each features original full-color detailing, and Street Fighter II can accommodate two players while Turtles In Time can host up to four players. Dorothy Returns with Dark and Spiritual New Song “What’s Coming to Me”: Stream
Dorothy is back with a new single, “What’s Coming to Me,” and it marks the singer’s first bit of new music since her 2018 studio album, 28 Days in the Valley. The track shows off Dorothy’s penchant for the blues, with strong, soulful vocals and a rock ‘n’ roll character. “[The song] is a story about casting out a demon and getting redeemed — a metaphor for depression or addiction,” said Dorothy in a press release. “I think it’s something we can all relate to. William Smith, the veteran actor best known for starring in the 1976 TV miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man and the original Hawaii Five-O has died. He was 88 years old. According to a report by Deadline, the late actor’s wife, Joanne Cervelli Smith, confirmed he had passed away July 5th at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, California. However, no cause of death was given publicly. FX Drops First Trailer for ‘American Horror Stories’ Spin-Off
FX on Hulu has officially released the first trailer for the spin-off anthology series of American Horror Story. American Horror Stories does not follow AHS‘s typical format that follows one story arc for the entirety of the season. The spin-off will actually be composed of separate chill-inducing tales in each episode. Netflix Is Exploring Virtual Reality and Gaming Content With Shonda Rhimes
Netflix on Thursday announced a new deal with Shonda Rhimes — the mastermind behind the streaming platform’s most-watched series, Bridgerton — that will support the development of feature films and an expansion into virtual reality and gaming. “The newly expanded partnership will give Netflix and Shondaland Media the opportunity to exclusively produce, stream and distribute feature films as well potential gaming and virtual reality content,” the company wrote in a statement.
