“Master / Slave” and “Male / Female” are terms that those in the pro audio industry are undoubtedly familiar with. The former refers to a communication protocol in which one device controls information (the Master) and another follows its direction (the Slave). “Male” and “Female,” on the other hand, are common terms for the topology of connectors of many kinds, referencing biological anatomy in relation to the shapes of certain cables and other apparatuses. But a new initiative by the Professional Audio Manufacturers Alliance (PAMA) seeks to make that type of terminology obsolete. PAMA’s members include some of the most recognizable names in pro audio technology, such as Shure, Sennheiser, and Audio-Technica, all of whom back the ̶...

Liquid Stranger and LUZCID have once again put their creative minds together for a new collab called “Snow Melt.” “Snow Melt,” which marks the first release on Liquid Stranger’s SSKWAN imprint, pulls influence from his fan-favorite single “Dissolve” while ushering in a more melodic sound. The track is smooth, with a slower cadence and an ethereal ambiance that takes listeners on a psychedelic journey. Setting the scene, the song opens with the sound of running water with eerie, subtle drips. Heavy kick drums and a syncopated snare drum drive the track forward before a cacophony of synths pour in. Turbulent in parts and smooth in others, the sound design ebbs and flows beautifully as the arrangement chugs along. You can stream “Snow Melt...
Irish singer-songwriter Cosha has recruited one of the electronic music scene’s most polished producers to breathe life into her debut album. The stunning Mt. Pleasant LP, which is named after the area of Dublin where Cosha was raised, features four tracks with production by Grammy-nominated producer Mura Masa. His signature playful sound pervades half of the sultry record, out now by way of Cosha’s own Ashtown Lane imprint. The album’s seductive opener, “Berlin Air,” is akin to strawberries dipped in melted dark chocolate. The fourth track, a come-hither tune called “Lapdance from Asia,” follows suit with similar syncopated percussion and a languid topline. Mt. Pleasant single “Tighter” arrives next, offering a wooz...

In a new interview with “Talking Wax With Adika Live!”, Gene Simmons touched upon the lack of involvement of Peter Criss and Ace Frehley in KISS‘s new documentary “Biography: KISStory”, which premiered late last month with a two-night event on A&E. “God love ’em, both Ace and Peter, in the beginning of the band, were just the best thing that ever happened to us,” Gene said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “But they made such horrible choices in their life. And they continue to do that — they continue to make really bad choices, not just in terms of their health and what you ingest, but career choices. Like, we just had this documentary that came out that’s a headlining thing at the Tribeca Film Festival, and, of course, w...

Vic Mensa has released the music video for “Victory,” which comes off his latest EP, I Tape. The video starts by stating that five exclusive tapes were hidden throughout Chicago, and that the winners of the scavenger hunt were picked up by Mensa. Those five winners are seen throughout the film, as Mensa rides around the Chi in a black Lamborghini URS SUV, with a fitting license plate to match — ‘CHI 99.’ The video syncs well with the track, as the monochrome visuals toss and turn to the soulful Just Blaze-produced beat. Mensa said in a release that his team was able to get the wild sport bike shots by using some careful maneuvering. “We spent the whole day running from the police,” said Mensa in a press release. “’Victory’ is a return to form for me…just pure lyricism and a foolish sample ...
A handful of FaZe Clan members have now been tied to a cryptocurrency pump-and-dump scheme involving a child-oriented charity and initiative. According to new reports, four members of the Esports group participated in a crypto project named Save the Kids, which promised to donate one percent of each transaction fee of its KIDS token to various foundations supporting the welfare of children. The charity’s creators managed to get several influencers from FaZe Clan to help promote the program prior to its launch in June, but the price of the altcoin subsequently crashed by 90 percent. Those involved have denied any ill intent, and that it was simply a vetting mistake when the idea was pitched to the group. FaZe Clan has since released a statement on Twitter saying that it had “absolutely no i...
If you’re a fan of Star Wars Squadrons but you’re feeling desire for more, you’re now in luck: a group of fans of 1994’s cult classic TIE Fighter has now remade the game with (relatively) modernized graphics. Titled TIE Fighter: Total Conversion, the new remake is actually not based on the ‘94 game itself but a modded version of its sequel X-Wing Alliance. The project has already been in development for several years and is now finally complete. It includes a wholly “reimagined” campaign mode that spans across 37 missions and brings in “more ships” for even “bigger battles.” Aside from widescreen resolutions, it even supports a VR mode for those looking for a truly immersive space dogfighting experience. The soundtrack has also been remastered, although if you’re feeling nos...
