ARNEL PINEDA Says Working With New JOURNEY Members Has Been ‘Amazing’

JOURNEY frontman Arnel Pineda has told Rolling Stone in a new interview that the band has completed six tracks for its upcoming album, with “maybe seven songs to go.” Asked if these cuts are ballads or rockers, he said: “For now, we’re doing the rocker songs first, not the ballads. I think the seven songs they’re working on, they’re working on something huge, like how you’ve known JOURNEY doing ballads. It’s between [1981’s] ‘Mother, Father’ and [1978’s] ‘Winds Of March’. We’re working on that song. We’ll see what happens. I’m waiting for them to send me the demos so that we can record it next week.” Speaking about how things sound different now that bassist Randy Jackson and drummer...

SALIVA’s Reunion With Original Singer JOSEY SCOTT ‘Has Been Put On Hold’

SALIVA‘s previously announced reunion with original frontman Josey Scott “has been put on hold” due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Scott left SALIVA at the end of 2011 after 15 years with the group, reportedly to pursue a solo Christian music career. He was quickly replaced by Bobby Amaru, who can be heard on SALIVA‘s last four releases: “In It To Win It” (2013), “Rise Up” (2014), “Love, Lies & Therapy” (2016) and “10 Lives” (2018). Scott broke the news of his return to SALIVA in October 2019 during an appearance on “The Morning Dump”, a podcast hosted by “The Big Mad Morning Show” in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At the time, Josey said that he wanted to get together with SALIVA and “write a...

OZZY OSBOURNE’s Daughter AIMÉE Was Surprised By Success Of ‘The Osbournes’ TV Show

Aimée Osbourne, the eldest daughter of Ozzy and Sharon, has once again opened up again about her decision to not participate in the family’s reality TV show, “The Osbournes”. Aimée, who was only 15 years at the time, reportedly went as far as to move out of the family home in an effort to stay away from the cameras. Asked by The Oakland Press if she had any regrets about not being involved with “The Osbournes”, Aimée said: “No. It wasn’t even something I ever contemplated. I never saw it as an option, so it didn’t feel like a hard decision. I knew (the show) was never something that would have made me happy and would have benefitted me long-term. The show was real; There was no script, and I think they got some messages out there that were im...

Police Called On Senior Citizens in Line for COVID-19 Vaccine Due to Reports of “Illegal Rave”

When Essex residents saw a number of people waiting outside Saxon Hall for shots, they clearly had something different in mind. Local police were called onto the scene of what they were told was an illegal rave, only to find a number of elderly individuals in line to receive the COVID-19 vaccine instead. The Saxon Hall venue is typically used to entertain wedding parties and banquets, and seeing a gathering outside the venue led concerned nearby residents to assume the worst. National lockdowns have created a spike in underground rave events that have hit the UK over the last several months. “It was really funny when the police arrived as they had been notified that there was a ‘rave’ taking place at Saxon Hall – only to find 80 and 90 year-olds on wheelchairs, zimme...

The Ghost Ship Warehouse’s Master Tenant Pleads Guilty to 36 Counts of Manslaughter

The Master Tenant of the Ghost Ship warehouse in Oakland, where 36 people tragically died in a 2016 fire, has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges. As part of the plea deal, Derick Almena will be sentenced to serve nine years. Almena is currently serving time on house arrest after posting a $150K bond in May of last year because of COVID-19. Due to his time served in prison since 2017 and credit received for good behavior, prosecutors don’t foresee him returning to prison to serve out the remainder of his sentence. The victims’ families were notified last week that a plea deal was on the table, and the revelation has drawn reactions of shock and disappointment. “My heart dropped, especially when I heard it was going to be a slap on the wrist,”...

Streamer Experiences Call of Duty: Warzone Glitch That Put Skrillex’s “Bangarang” On Repeat

While playing Call of Duty: Warzone one lucky streamer stumbled upon a music glitch that led to “Bangarang” getting played on repeat.  While Skrillex‘s music and gaming go hand-in-hand, one unsuspecting Reddit user wound up in the situation completely by accident. Though initially surprised, he seemed to appreciate the new soundtrack, head-banging his way from start to finish only for the song to restart once again. Other players chimed in on the streamer’s thread to explain that this phenomenon can sometimes occur when players exit vehicles while the radio is playing. Players describe that the music can be turned off again by finding another vehicle, getting in, and then turning the radio off.   Players can also prevent this from happening by di...

Razer Unveils Prototype for “World’s Smartest Mask”

Gaming hardware and technology brand Razer has developed what they call the “world’s smartest mask.” Titled Project Hazel, the mask has the promise of being a more customizable and sustainable alternative to disposable surgical masks without compromising on safety. Following the initial onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Razer was one of the companies that stepped up to provide much-needed PPE amid a global shortage. To date, the company has produced over 1 million surgical masks. However, as Razer’s Director of Design Charlie Bolton explains, that endeavor led to the realization that a more sustainable option was missing from the market. Thus, Project Hazel was born. First and foremost, Project Hazel has the high-quality filtration equivalent to that of an N95 respira...

’68 Announce New Album, Share “The Knife, The Knife, The Knife”: Stream

Former Norma Jean and The Chariot singer Josh Scogin has announced a new album from his current project ’68. It’s called Give One Take One and due out on March 26th via Cooking Vinyl. He’s has also shared the music video for the lead single, “The Knife, The Knife, The Knife”. Scogin himself created the video for the heavy single, which leans more toward garage rock as opposed to the metalcore and hardcore punk of his previous bands. Hints of blues fuse with a noisy post-hardcore edge, resulting in a massive wall of sound — impressive considering ’68 are only two individuals: Scogin and drummer Nikko Yamada. “Of all the music I’ve created over the years, this album holds some of my very favorite moments, lyrically, musically, and even mentally; I travel down several roads that are...

Editors’ Picks Additions to the back catalogue are just as special, most notably Nicolas Cage’s cult...

Dave East Unveils New Song “Mercedes Talk”: Stream

Dave East has elevated hustle to a religion. Since 2010 he’s dropped something like 16 mixtapes and albums, most recently 2020’s Karma 3. The veteran MC shows no signs of slowing down, opening 2021 with the new song “Mercedes Talk”. The track was produced by AraabMuzik. His beat eschews internal movement, building tension out of the contrast between a high chime and rumbling bass. East works over the top with a laid back flow, mixing the personal (“I still don’t feel like I’m famous/ Had to move up out the projects just to feel like I made it,”) with punchlines (“Headshot turn your thoughts into liquor.”) “Mercedes Talk” comes with a music video directed by WillC. It shows East on the street with his bros, outside a corner store, and behind the counter of a fast food joint. Oh, and th...
