We aren’t even two weeks into the new year, but it has already told 2020 to hold its beer. As we plunge headlong into the dystopian hellscape that is 2021, a new Danish animated children’s show called John Dillermand—about a man who uses his giant, elastic penis to save his community—has gone viral. Because what’s more appealing to children than a mustached man who glides through the sky with balloons attached to his giant schlong? The new series, which was reportedly developed for kids aged 4-8 (yes, seriously) follows its phallic protagonist as he uses his heroic dong to tame lions, distinguish fires, and cook hotdogs for kids. No, that last one is not a pun. Check out the trailer below at your own peril. Many across the globe have a bone(r) to pick with ...

Big time loser. Delusional loser. SORE loser.” A statement by vocalist Milo Aukerman added, “The time has come. The time is now. Just go, go, GO. I don’t care how. Donald J. Trump, will you please go now!” The track follows the politically-charged two-song single “Suffrage,” released ahead of the 2020 general election encouraging voting to take down the Trump administration. Aukerman just doesn’t want Trump to leave office. “I mean crawl back into your hole of hate and live out the rest of your life as a nobody. A loser. Because that’s what you are. Worst. President. In our new music feature Origins, we give musicians the chance to explore the backstory behind their latest single. Today, Emile Mosseri tells us about composing the score to Lee Isaac Chung’s Minari. To help elevate the intimate storytelling of one of the best films of 2020, Minari, writer-director Lee Isaac Chung turned to composer Emile Mosseri. Mosseri knew well how to write the proper music for a unique family tale, as he had done recently for Miranda July’s Kajillionaire. Audiences will get to hear how he crafted a score befitting Chung’s beautiful American tale itself when Minari and its soundtrack are released wide on February 12th. One of the reasons Mosseri was able to pen such an evocative soundtrack is because of how early he he began working on the process. In what he cal...

“Deebo”, a.k.a. Tommy Lister, in Friday There’s method acting and then there’s Tommy Lister Jr.. In 1991, Kirk Hammett of METALLICA came to ESP with a request for a new custom guitar using a single cutaway design, but with the features of his KH-2 signature model. METALLICA‘s graphic artist Pushead designed a spider graphic specifically for this new instrument, which was dubbed the KH-3. Kirk played this guitar throughout the ’90s on tours supporting METALLICA‘s legendary Black Album. After spending a number of years on display at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, Kirk‘s original KH-3 was returned to ESP as a reference point to create the new Kirk Hammett KH-3 Spider 30th Anniversary Edition. “I really like the feel of the single cutaway shape, and thought it would be great to add a locking trem and my usual EMG pickups,” says Hammett. “Not to m...
Hot on the heels of “No Son of Mine”, FOO FIGHTERS have unleashed another dose of “Medicine At Midnight” in the form of “Waiting On A War”. In stark contrast to the bludgeoning “final f*ck you to 2020” (UPROXX) of its predecessor, “Waiting On A War” is a sprawling melodic opus that gradually builds to a patented FF rave-up. If “Waiting On A War” seems to have an especially emotional heft to its lyrics, well, that’s because it does. Dave Grohl recounts the personal anecdote that inspired the song: “Last fall, as I was driving my daughter to school, she turned to me and asked, ‘Daddy, is there going to be a war?’ My heart sank as I realized that she was now living under the same dark cloud that I had fe...
A new video containing an interview with BLACK SABBATH guitar legend Tony Iommi has been made to commemorate the reinstallation of the band’s “heavy metal” bench on Broad Street in Birmingham, England. The mini documentary is presented by Christian Martin, the former Argentinian rugby player who is himself a huge BLACK SABBATH fan, and features rare footage of the band performing in its early days. The video was commissioned and released by Westside BID to commemorate the rededication of the bench which first appeared in 2018 but had been temporarily removed during the Midland Metro tram extension works. Martin, who was in Birmingham last week covering the COVID-19 lockdown for A24, the Argentinian-based cable news channel, agreed to front the video as a “labor of l...
