Julia Louis-Dreyfus Spoofs Rudy Giuliani to Announce Veep Table Read Fundraiser: Watch

When life imitates Veep, Veep imitates life. To announce another political fundraising event from the cast of the hit HBO comedy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus pulled off her best Rudy Giuliani impression — melting face and all. With makeup cascading down her head like so much running hair dye, Louis-Dreyfus took to Instagram to announce a Veep virtual table read. Mocking Giuliani’s wide-eyed lying about thousands of cases of alleged voter fraud and his rambling asides, the actress pointed out that “many brave and patriotic Americans have come forward having witnessed similarities between our ongoing election and the TV show Veep.” As such, the original Veep cast has decided to come together once again to highlight those too-real-to-be-funny parallels with a table read of the Emmy-winning episode “M...

In First Look, Live Action Clifford the Big Red Dog Also Big Red Stuff of Nightmares

A Labrador Retriever puppy has been dipped in blood (?) in the first teaser for the live-action adaptation of Clifford the Big Red Dog. The movie is based on the Clifford books by Norman Bridwell, which concern a small girl named Emily Elizabeth and her comically-oversized dog. The transition from animated page to live action screen is full of pitfalls, and director Walt Becker (Wild Hogs) seems to have stepped in all of them. Beyond the commitment to cadmium red, the pup’s face has that slightly frozen expression common to CGI, where only a few muscles move at a time. The short clip highlights the issue by beginning with a lineup of real dogs, which is meant to sell the joke of Clifford’s size, but merely underscores his corpse-like stiffness. Roboticist Masahiro Mori famously c...

G-Eazy, Troye Sivan & More Encourage Fans to Stay Safe This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is just a day away, but as the coronavirus continues to spread rapidly across the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is urging that the “safest way” to spend the holiday is “to celebrate at home with the people you live with.” The holiday season is typically when traveling spikes and airports are more crowded than usual, and celebrities are using their platforms to encourage their fans to stay home and stay safe. “I think Zoom is going to get a lot of traffic on Thanksgiving,” G-Eazy said in the virtual press room during Sunday night’s American Music Awards. “You gotta play it safe when it comes to family. I am going to be on Zoom with my family, just out of respect, out of precaution. You gotta conside...

U.K. Judge Refuses Johnny Depp Permission to Appeal Libel Ruling

In a ruling made public on Wednesday, the judge also ordered Depp to make an initial payment of almost 630,000 pounds ($840,000) to News Group Newspapers, publisher of The Sun, to cover its legal fees. Depp can still apply directly to the Court of Appeal, and has until Dec. 7 to do so. The judge’s main ruling came after a three-week trial in which Depp and Heard gave conflicting accounts of their brief, tempestuous marriage. In the wake of the decision, Depp said he was leaving the Fantastic Beasts film franchise after studio Warner Bros. requested his resignation. Depp is also suing Heard for $50 million in Virginia over a Washington Post op-ed essay that she wrote about domestic violence. The essay talks about her experience being abused but does not name Depp. The trial is due to be hel...

Ty Dolla $ign and Post Malone meanwhile get their wild-wild west world on in their clip to “Spicy” where the two turn into cowboys with futuristic weapons. MEGADETH’s DAVID ELLEFSON: ‘The Good Lord Had Me And DAVE MUSTAINE Meet’ In 1983

In a new interview with the “TODDCast Podcast”, MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson was asked if Dave Mustaine has changed much in the way he approaches music in the four decades since they first met. Ellefson replied (hear audio below): “Not at all. Not one bit. He’s pretty much the same. And I admire his tenacity and stability in that area. “When Dave and I met, we would sit around and talk about… The idea [for MEGADETH] was conceptualized before we even played a note together,” he continued. “Dave was writing a song called ‘Megadeath’, which was then retitled ‘Set The World Afire’, and it didn’t even come out until our third album, ‘So Far, So Good… So What!’. That was the very first song that Dave had...
