Oliver Tree’s “Let Me Down” Receives Punk Remix from blink-182

Oliver Tree released a one-of-a-kind remix of his hit “Let Me Down” alongside his personal childhood heroes, blink-182.  It’s a pleasantly unexpected combination that sees the pop punk veterans woven seamlessly into the mix. As always, Travis Barker‘s drive is unmatched, bringing a punchy drum performance that is irreproducible. Meanwhile, Mark Hoppus goes back and forth with Tree and chimes in with a new verse of his own that perfectly complements the source material. The band builds upon the existing instrumental infrastructure, whipping it up into a vigorous punk rework.  The original version of the song, produced by Whethan, appeared on Oliver Tree’s debut album Ugly is Beautiful earlier this year. It was the latest offering from t...

RUDY SARZO Says ‘There’s No Blueprint Anymore’ For Success In Music Industry

In a new interview with The Network317 Podcast, legendary hard rock bassist Rudy Sarzo was asked what advice he has for up-and-coming musicians who are looking to make it in the music industry. He responded (see video below): “Any advice that I can give, really, is based on my references on a music industry that does not exist. I can give you advice, but I think there’s better-suited people out there who are more currently on the pulse of what’s going on. I can only give you advice based on what’s considered right now a classic rock musician. Had the industry not changed, yes, I can give you pearls of wisdom. “Certain things still apply, but I think what the musicians need more today than ever is mentorship from people who are doing it right now — the ones who...

Probacus: Akpabio And The Musketeers

Probacus: Akpabio And The Musketeers In the last few weeks, the nation has been agog with revelations and counter revelations of huge fraudulent activities happening in various government agencies and parastatals. It’s like a movie playing before our eyes, and it seems we’d continue to enjoy the action for some time to come. Thank God we have a proactive Speaker of the House of Representatives leader in Mr Femi Gbajamiala and he has taken the bull by the horn to constitute a probe panel into how funds are appropriated by government agencies. Nigerians would have had no idea what beautiful scenes were playing behind the everyday scenes we see to cause the mess that Nigeria is in today. The first to make the headlines was former EFCC chairman Mr Ibrahim Magu, the supposedly incorruptible cor...

The single frames Olsen’s dreamy croon around electric guitars with heavy reverb. “Won’t be long now before it’s really showing / It’s every season where it is I’m going,” she sings. “I stretch my bones out on the floor / I think I’ll really do the change.” “The reality is that artists are often never home so health, clear mindedness and grounding is hard to come by,” Olsen said of the track in a statement. “The song is a mental note to try and stay sane, keep healthy, remember to breathe wherever I happen to be, because there is no saving it for back home.” The clip, directed by Ashley Connor, shows Olsen s...
