The Kanye West show is in full swing (and full view). A day after his unusual debut political rally in South Carolina in which he appeared wearing a military style jacket with “2020” shaved into the back of his head, indulged in an hour-long train-of-thought session and at one stage, broke down in tears, Kanye is turning his attention to social media. Late Monday, West appeared to be having a very public meltdown on Twitter. It appeared to kick off with a single post, without comment, of Michael Jackson’s music video to “Black or White.” From that point forward, Kanye fired away. With family members among the targets, including Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner. “I put my life on my God that Norths mom would never photograph her doing playboy and that’s on ...
Source: Vevo / Youtube Knowing that Pop Smoke isn’t around to enjoy the well-deserved fruits of his labor is still a very hard pill to swallow for the Hip-Hop community, but at least he left us a small body of work to enjoy as we reminisce about his time in the game. In his posthumous visuals to “The Woo,” 50 Cent and Roddy Ricch keep Pop’s memory alive with some throwback footage of Pop kicking it with his crew while Fiddy and Roddy party in his honor with a gang of young women. Back in May 2020, we reported that organizers of the Kansas City electronic music festival Dancefestopia had announced the news that state and county officials gave them permission to move forward with the event’s 2020 edition. After being given the green-light, representatives acknowledged that “the situation could change.” Due to the unrelenting impact of COVID-19, they have officially announced Dancefestopia’s postponement to September 9th to 12th, 2021. The 2020 edition of Dancefestopia was set to feature many major dance music artists, including headliners GRiZ, Zeds Dead, and REZZ, along with Borgore, 12th Planet, Subtronics, Wuki, G Jones, and TroyBoi, among many others. However, a number of artists disassociated themselves from the brand...
REZZ, the bass music wunderkind and recent recipient of a shiny Juno Award, took to Instagram today to share a preview of an unreleased track, which immediately sent her fanbase into a frenzy. The preview arrives after a recent tweet in which REZZ wrote that she was working on music that made her “very happy at the moment.” She decided to post a lengthy preview of the ID, which churns along to a typically hypnotic rhythm featuring the alluring vocal refrain of “tag, you’re it.” The series of videos ends with the song’s drop, a menacing, bass-fueled masterstroke that sees her returning to her midtempo roots following the alt-rock and electro hybrid “Someone Else” with Grabbitz. REZZ was mum on the details, however, refraining from po...
In honor of the ten-year anniversary of her debut release, VASSY has dropped a remix EP for one of her all-time classics. Released on her co-writers’ label, the record features remixes from LODATO, COOL KICKS, Kue, Gozzi, and Kobe Bourne and JK West. With each artist giving the track a unique spin, the remix EP signifies a metaphorical passing of the torch from the superstars to the up-and-comers. Over the course of her career, VASSY has gone platinum seventeen times, garnered over 2 billion streams, and has co...

One night last summer, at a 19th-century opera house, Dehd were playing in the middle of the room. Headlining a label showcase configured for 360-degree views, the bleeding-hearted indie-rock trio followed their steelier, more poker-faced peers Patio and Deeper. As the latter finished their set, all three bands convened for a cover of The Cure’s “Boys Don’t Cry,” on which Dehd guitarist Jason Balla and bassist Emily Kempf took the mics with their typical on-stage abandon. That night—eye-to-eye with their listeners, hiding no side of themselves, and taking cues from Robert Smith by bending the rigid edges of post-punk with the brightness and zeal of pop—Dehd were exactly in their element. This direct connection carries through Flower of Devotion, the band’s biggest-sounding album yet. Rathe...
