DOPE leader Edsel Dope, who is widely believed to be Xer0, the masked frontman of STATIC-X, has fired back at ex-STATIC-X guitarist Tripp Eisen over accusations that Tripp‘s former bandmates took undeserved songwriting credit on some of the tracks on the group’s just-released “Project Regeneration Vol. 1” album. The first of two volumes, “Project Regeneration Vol. 1” features 12 brand new tracks, containing many of the final vocal performances and musical compositions of late STATIC-X frontman Wayne Static, along with the original “Wisconsin Death Trip” lineup of bassist Tony Campos, drummer Ken Jay, and guitarist Koichi Fukuda. Both volumes are being worked on by longtime STATIC-X producer Ulrich Wild. During the recording sessions for ̶...
Legendary guitarist Peter Frampton has blasted Donald Trump after the U.S. president retweeted a post claiming that doctors and public health officials are telling “outrageous lies” about COVID-19. Earlier this week, the president promoted to his 83 million followers a tweet from 1980s game-show host and fervent Trump supporter Chuck Woolery. “The most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid 19,” Woolery wrote. “Everyone is lying. The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most, that we are told to trust. I think it’s all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election. I’m sick of it.” Trump‘s retweet of Woolery came as the White House sought to discredit the country’s leading in...
RATING: 8/10 There comes a time in nearly every veteran metal musician’s life when the urge to collaborate with an orchestra becomes irresistible. It’s actually quite surprising that Udo Dirkschneider waited so long to conjure a project as unashamedly overblown as “We Are One”, but if anyone has earned the right to tick off the few remaining goals from his metal-as-fuck to-do list, it’s the none-more-metal ex-ACCEPT frontman. Admittedly, the appeal of U.D.O. — Dirkschneider‘s titular crew, on and off, since 1987 — has always been noticeably narrower than that of his former band, but he is one of metal’s most adored vocalists nonetheless, with a towering legacy and some of the genre’s greatest ever anthems on his CV. Teaming up here with DAS M...
Source: Steven Ferdman / Getty Vivica Fox is all for a Kill Bill sequel, but with a new spin. During an interview with NME, Vivica Fox revealed her ideas for the follow up sequel, that will be the first in 17 years, to the cult classic. The actress, who played Vernita Green in the 2003 classic and now stars in drug kingpin thriller Arkansas, confirmed last month that Quentin Tarantino and Uma Thurman were in talks with the real possibility of a sequel. “I haven’t got any official word, I had a feeling that hopefully [Tarantino] was waiting on [the actress who plays] my daughter to grow up a little bit,” Fox said. “But then I was doing an interview and they asked ‘What young actress would you get to play your daughter?’ and I was like ‘No, Ambrosia [Kelley]!’ but they meant an est...
Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty It feels like it’s been a hot minute since Phresher had heads bopping uncontrollably with his breakthrough hit “Wait A Minute” and while Love & Hip Hop placed some much-needed shine on his career, the Brooklyn rapper isn’t giving up music for reality TV just yet. Linking up with Fivio Foreign and Stunna 4 Vegas in his visuals to “All The Smoke,” Phresher and company crash a European pub and show it’s patrons how to turn up and get lit with the hood representatives. Looked hella fun in there. Back in Kings County, Maino channels Will Smith as the last man alive in a world where a virus wiped out humanity and recreates I Am Legend in his Lyrivelli assisted clip to “Phases.” We miss that crown, Maino. Mason Ramsey sings till the cows come home after enjoying their eco-friendly lemongrass diet in the latest Burger King commercial that came out today (July 14). “When cows fart and burp and splatter/ well it ain’t no laughing matter/ They’re releasing methane every time they do/ And then methane from their rear goes up through the atmosphere/ And pollutes our planet, warming me and you,” Ramsey sings while exiting out of a cow’s rear in a rhinestoned white suit and ascending into outer space. But no one’s laughing in their matching rhinestoned gas masks to exemplify the dangers of cow-based greenhouse gas emissions. The 13-year-old twanging star yodels about the fast-food franchise’s latest experiment to find a diet for “reducing meth-aa-aa-aane, m...
The pop queen crossover we needed. Britney Spears took to Instagram on Tuesday (July 14) to share one of her classic dance video posts. She often dances to a Michael Jackson song, but this time, Brit opted for a Billie Eilish smash hit. Spears busted a move to Eilish’s eerie “bury a friend,” hitting every note as she danced around her house. “Need I say more …..Billie !!!!!” she wrote in the caption with nerd face and star emojis. “I know ….. I should makeup on and brush my hair but I just wanna dance,” she continued. Here’s to hoping we’ll get an Eilish/Spears collaboration soon. Watch the dance video below. A few months ago, Win Butler subtly shared that Arcade Fire was at work on their first studio album since 2017’s Everything Now. In announcing his new solo album today (July 14), Will Butler revealed that the band was at work, but circumstances, primarily COVID-19, threw a wrench into those plans. “Arcade Fire was recording. Well, we were recording… But now our drummer is in Australia, two of us are in Canada, and the rest are in America,” Butler said in an interview with NME. “Australia are having a crazy outbreak, the border to Canada is sealed right now… like, Jesus Christ. It takes more logistics to get together. It always took a certain amount of logistics, but right now it’s insurmountable.” The problem with the sessions, at least as of now, Butler says the band won’t know ...
Bansky is at it again. The secretive English street artist, known for his provocative takes on everything from the high society art world to Paris Hilton’s debut album, has commented on the coronavirus pandemic in his latest piece — all while sneaking in a Chumbawamba reference, because of course he did. Banksy announced his new piece via a video on his Instagram page. Entitled “if you don’t mask – you don’t get”, the artwork was “installed” on a London Underground train, and consists of his own tag sprayed in that familiar shade of N95 mask blue, surrounded by stenciled rats, a common motif in his work. One of the rats uses a face mask as a parachute while another sneezes, shooting blue liquid everywhere — it represents the novel coronavirus’ dynamic aerosol efficiency, duh! The enigmatic...
