Muzz’s Paul Banks and Matt Barrick on Their Genesis and Why They’ll ‘Definitely Continue’ to Make Music Together

Paul Banks swears that he never intended to form another band. The singer-guitarist had a busy enough work schedule with his main outfit, Interpol, not to mention other diversions like Banks and Steelz — his side project with rapper-turned-film-director RZA — and solo albums as Julian Plenti and under his own name, like Banks in 2012. But he couldn’t help himself with his new trio Muzz — the chance to work with his childhood guitar-whiz chum Josh Kaufman (of Bonny Light Horseman renown) and their mutual percussionist pal Matt Barrick just proved too tempting. And his instinct was on the money. The eponymous Muzz debut is a moody, melodic masterpiece, falling somewhere between the delicate melancholy of the Blue Nile and the sinister atmospherics of vintage The The, which is held ...

Sia and Maddie Ziegler Bring Bubbly Performance of ‘Together’ to Tonight Show

The longer people have been staying at home, the more musicians have been putting more creativity into their livestream performances. Sia proved that during her performance of “Together” on The Tonight Show: At Home Edition last night (June 9). Donning her signature wig in pink and yellow, Sia teamed up with her frequent collaborator, dancer Maddie Ziegler, and brought a whimsical party to our screens. From filling the room with bubbles to having a pancake fight, Sia gave us the same energy that she exudes in one of her crazy colorful videos. They even give a shout out to Jimmy Fallon’s line of children’s books. “Together” is the first single off Sia’s directorial debut, Music, based on Dallas Clayton’s children’s book. Aside from sitting in the director’s chair, she also penned the 10 tra...

[embedded content] “I tapped into my own youth to render a character whose small-town upbringing finds them feeling hemmed in and disillusioned. Imagining an idyllic vista out west, that all seems achingly out of re...

A Community’s Quest For Water And Akinyele LGA Clean Water Project

254.4Kshares 63.2K 191.2K 1 0 0 0 0 A COMMUNITY’S QUEST FOR H20 AND AKINYELE LGA CLEAN WATER PROJECT We are told in the book of Genesis that when God decided to make earth habitable for man, he met the entire surface of the planet filled with water, “…and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters”, before he called forth land. Today, experts tell us that 71% of the entire surface of the earth is covered with water, although 96.5% of it is salt water, man has been able to master the art of treating   water for consumption. In other words, we are quite literally surrounded with water so that no human being should lack water. But, did you know that up to 300 million people live in areas without access to clean water? This applies especially to countries lying in Sub-Sahara...

ARMY, K-pop Fans Become an Unexpected Ally to American Protesters

As American protesters took to the streets to mourn the death of George Floyd, they found an unexpected ally: K-pop fans. Floyd died May 25 after a police officer pressed his knee into his neck for several minutes even after he stopped moving. K-pop fans galvanized by police brutality and political disappointments swiftly mobilized, re-purposing their usual platforms and hashtags from boosting their favorite stars to backing the Black Lives Matter movement. They flooded right-wing hashtags and police apps with short video clips and memes of their K-pop stars. In a tweet Thursday to its 26 million fans, South Korean boy band BTS said it opposes racial discrimination and violence and announced a $1 million donation to Black Lives Matter. Fans quickly followed suit with the hashtag #MatchAMil...

Michael B. Jordan Calls Out Hollywood In Inspiring Speech to Protestors In LA

Source: Rich Fury / Getty With the Black Lives Matter protests continuing into their second week and garnering more support with every passing day, more and more celebrities have taken to the streets and social media to show their alignment with the movement. Now Michael B.
