Cameroonian-born techno and tech house producer EDUKE and Makossa legend Ben Decca have joined forces on a rhythmic new single called “Belembete,” the duo’s first offering in a series of forthcoming collaborations. While his work has been highly sought after for its ability to command a club floor, EDUKE has sought to channel more traditional Cameroonian influences in his recent work. His latest offering “Belembete” is a minimalistic, house-inspired production built upon a strong foundation of hand-drum instrumentation, and it is characteristic of the Makoss...

In nearly the blink of an eye, the world’s nightlife and music industries were decimated by the ongoing global health crisis. While fortunately, the global spread of COVID-19 is slowing in many countries, due to the risk the virus possesses; concerts, festivals, and club nights have been put on hold. Surprising to some, 78 days after shutting down, pool parties have returned to Las Vegas’ Flamingo Hotel and Casino. While casinos have reopened across Sin City, the recent aquatic gathering is the first of its kind to restore. TMZ is reporting that few guests were practicing social distancing, but the casino’s staff was required to wear masks and gloves. They have also revealed that while the pools were open for business, it appears as though attendance was low. In an effort...
In recognition of National Gun Violence Awareness Day on June 5th, Pearl Jam unearthed the uncensored version of their 1992 video for “Jeremy”. To date, “Jeremy” remains one of Pearl Jam’s most chilling and affecting songs, based on the real-life suicide of high school student Jeremy Wade Delle, who shot himself in front of his classmates in January 1991. The accompanying video depicts the incident in graphic detail, though the edited version zoomed in on Jeremy’s face so that his gun could not be seen. The uncensored version includes the haunting final scene with Jeremy putting a gun in his mouth. “The increase in gun violence since the debut of ‘Jeremy’ is staggering,” Pearl Jam wrote in an accompanying social media post. “We have released the uncensored version of the video which w...
