If There’s One Collection We Can’t Wait to Wear for Autumn, It’s This One

The autumn collection shown in New York in February drew inspiration from Manhattan local and ceramicist Francesca DiMattio, whose sculptures were dotted around the catwalk and who designed the statement prints for the collection in collaboration with Burch. The designer says DiMattio’s artwork “imbues the decorative with strength and power,” challenging ideas of femininity by putting a modern twist on traditionally female norms: pastel colours, beading, basket weaving, and florals, to name a few. It’s clear to see the influences in the new Tory Burch collection. Not only in the joyful colours and bricolage of prints and textures reflecting DiMattio’s mixed material techniques but also more subtly in how Burch contrasts the decorative and feminine elements with masculine silhouettes....

Sienna Miller Just Wore This Anti-Skinny Jeans Trend

In the realm of celebrities whose style we adore, Sienna Miller usually sits quite high on the list. Aside from her impeccable red carpet appearances, the actress is often spotted around town in chic casual looks which regularly consist of a refreshing mix of designer and high-street labels.  Recently, Miller was spotted in London, sporting a casual look which may have just convinced us that we need to rethink our stance on ‘mom’ jeans. Paired against a patterned-shirt and Gucci sneakers, Miller donned a pair of pleat front high-waisted blue jeans. While this style can at times look dated, Miller’s choice to go for a pair of jeans that feature a baggy silhouette and ankle-grazing length ensured the trousers maintained a contemporary feel...

The Greatest Fashion Week Street Style Looks of All Time

For a long time now, fashion week hasn’t just been about the people wearing the clothes on the catwalk, but it’s been just as much about the people off the runway too. Unless you’ve attended a fashion show, it’s really hard to grasp just how much of a circus whole street style thing is, and while the legendary Suzy Menkes might dislike it, I’ve come to accept that it is part of the fun of fashion week and a joy to see so many people enjoying fashion. Arguably started with the likes of the late great Bill Cunningham and then continued by Scott Schuman’s Sartorialist, Tommy Ton and Phil Oh, it really kicked up a gear over the past 10 years, in part, thanks to Instagram. But that would be putting it too simply. While there are now scores of people posing outside fashi...

The One Coat Trend Fashion Editors and Stylists Always Return to

Aside from classics such as trenches and pea coats, it’s not often you come across a coat trend that has survived multiple seasons. 25 Fresh Ways to Style Your Puff-Sleeve Dresses, Tops, Jackets, and Coats

Whether you call them puff sleeves, balloon sleeves, bishop sleeves, or leg of mutton sleeves — yeah, that’s actually a thing — a voluminous statement sleeve is the most enduring fashion trend of 2020. Girlish and gentle puff sleeves make us feel safe, sweet, and playful, which is probably why we reach for them all year round. But where did they come from, and how do you style them? More on that ahead. Puff sleeves are a general name for the many variations of voluminous sleeve shapes that have become a fashion favourite since 2018. First coming into style in the Renaissance era, puff sleeves have seen peaks in popularity in the Edwardian age, again in the 1930s, and now in the 2020s. Many of us associate puff sleeves with a childlike gentility and bygone femininity, and oftentimes t...

I’m a Vintage Fanatic—Here Are My 8 Best Finds

It’s no secret that I’m a self-confessed vintage fashion fiend—give me a sunny Saturday afternoon, a takeaway coffee and a high street dotted with charity shops and I’ll happily wile away the hours rummaging through those densely-packed rails. It’s all about the thrill of the chase: the unique buzz that comes from spotting something special which is laden with its own unique history. If I’m honest, when I first started out second-hand hunting as a teenager my main motivations were budget and creativity. It’s only been in the last few years that I’ve come to appreciate the environmental benefits of buying vintage (not that I needed more reasons to hit my favourite London vintage h...

The Cult Moisturisers Meghan Markle, Rosie HW and VB Actually Use

A good cleanser might be the foundation of any successful skincare routine, but finding the right moisturiser can take your skin to the next level. While celebrities might have access to the very best facials and skincare experts in the business, there’s no doubt that most of the A-list have seriously good skin, and a lot of that will be down to the moisturiser they slather on daily. Although there are celebrity exceptions (Emma Stone loves olive oil, and Pixi Geldof adores argan oil), a little bit of digging proved that basically all our favourite celebrities were loyal to one moisturiser. Ranging from £13 to £350, there’s a whole mix of price points and skincare solutions here, but keep scrolling for the very best moisturisers that the likes of Meghan Markle, Rosie Huntington...

If There’s One Accessory Trend You Try This Autumn, Make It This One

To steal the popular adage from Miranda Priestly, chain detailing doesn’t seem like the most groundbreaking concept when it comes to accessory trends. After all, chains have been used as functional straps on handbags for several decades. But when it comes to the chain embellishments of 2020, we have to say, they are definitely something to write home about. This season, the humble chain detail has been given an upgrade, and yes we mean that quite literally. Supersized and placed on shoes, jewellery and clothing, chains have gone from simply being a practical addition on an accessory to becoming a statement-making detail in and of themselves.  From JW Anderson to Bottega Veneta, oversize chains appeared across the runway for A/W 2020—placed atop loafers, ...
