All Our Editors Agree, These Are the Best M&S Pieces To Buy For 2022

As a team, we’re not embarrassed to say we have a passion for scrolling through the M&S website, or popping into our local store on our lunch break to browse the new-in sections. So often have we come away with a real gem— something like the perfect spring jacket, leather trousers or cashmere knit— that goes on to hold a place in our wardrobe for years. Can you really blame us, then, for our rather unconventional hobby?  So, as 2022 dawns, and thoughts of wardrobe refreshes and new season shake ups enter our minds, we thought we’d put our talents to good use and provide you with an edit of the pieces from M&S we really love right now. There’s obviously plenty of great boots and knits if you still need to bolster your cold-weather wardrobes, but there’s also the ...

How To Take Last Year’s Biggest Trends Into 2022

If you’re a regular reader of Who What Wear, you’ll know we like to seriously consider the trends we buy into as editors. Because we see an awful lot come and go, it’s not unusual to see the office (or our Zoom meetings) filled with a team dressed purely in classic capsule basics. But we’re only human, and some trends are just too good to ignore.  2021 had its fair share of them— from cult dresses, to statement shoes and fun knits that excited us enough to invest. And we’re sure you felt the same way about them. The challenge is how to keep those pieces feeling fresh year after year. So we’ve done some thinking, alongside research into next year’s biggest trends, and come up with some easy ways to spin 9 of 2021’s most popular buys for the new season ahead. Keep scrolling to...

As A Shiny Girl, I’ve Tried Many Face Powders and These Are The Best

Firstly, I opt for a light to medium coverage foundation if I wear one at all, and get my coverage from concealer. This makes my face look fresh and not cakey as I continue to powder throughout the day. For staying power if it’s a day-job-to-night-plans kind of day, I always wear a primer and this takes care of my foundation and concealer not sliding so the powder can just be for stopping the oil coming through. Then, after I’ve finished my makeup, I set under my eyes and around my nose with a loose skin-coloured powder. Throughout the day I carry a small fluffy brush and a pressed powder to pinpoint target areas of shine so I don’t make my whole face look flat and matte but eliminate shine in unwanted areas. There is a common misconception that using powder makes the face look t...

5 Princess Diana Outfits That Will Make You Want to Live in Jeans and Blazers

Princess Diana’s style has remained one of the biggest influences in the fashion world over the past 30 years with a number of her outfits proving as iconic now as they were when she first wore them. Whether you realise it or not, so much of what we wear today is inspired by the royal’s fashion choices, from her cycling short gym looks to her effortless white shirts—all still visible on the catwalks of the last few years. Trust us, a quick Google search or scroll through the many Diana tribute Instagram accounts (we advise you follow them all) will provide all the new-season inspiration you need.  Our favourite Diana looks, though, all have one thing in common: denim. These days you don’t often (or ever) see Kate, Meghan or *whispers* Camilla wearing blue je...

They’re An Investment— But These Are the Best Knee-High Boots I’ve Ever Tried

It sometimes feels like you could spend forever searching for the perfect wardrobe items. The perfect white T-Shirt, the perfect pair of jeans, the perfect cashmere jumper… it can get exhausting. But when you find those pieces, and start building your ultimate capsule wardrobe— it seriously pays off. You end up with an edit of really special pieces you’ll wear forever, that make getting dressed every morning much easier. Some of those items can absolutely be found on the high street, like this Arket T-shirt, and some it’s worth investing in, to avoid having to buy twice (or more).  Knee-high boots, I’m here to argue, are one of those things. Mainly because it’s important for them to be excellent quality in order to last, but also because they’re a perennial. They’re position in ...

6 Easy But Brilliant Outfit Ideas We’ll be Trying This Spring

Ahhh, that post-Christmas, pre-new year lull— you’ve probably watched most of Netflix by now, caught up with all your favourite Who What Wear articles and indulged in a little sale shopping— right? If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably also spent more time in pyjamas and loungewear than not over the past week or so and the idea of getting dressed again in real clothes has become a little daunting.  So, while we all have time to take a little breather, we thought we’d use it to search for some fresh outfit inspiration for us all. Yes, we may still be in the depths of winter but we’re all a bit bored of cold-weather dressing now aren’t we? Our coat and knit collections have been updated, and as 2022 dawns it can’t hurt to look forward to the new season ahead. And by...

13 Moisturisers For Dry Winter Skin That Are Too Good Not To Share

Winter is here and so is my yearly struggle that my normal-to-dry skin type has shifted to be drier than the Sahara desert. Thankfully it’s not too much of a problem nowadays as I’m armed with a whole heap of skincare products ready to put all the moisture back in. That’s not to say I’m not looking to add to my list, especially when the recommendations are from great skin experts. Dr Ophelia, Consultant Dermatologist, MBBS, BSc, PhD and MRCP says “As much as 300ml of water can be lost through your skin each day which is known as transepidermal water loss.” This is why it’s important to make sure you’re giving your skin regular moisture from hydrating serums to moisturisers&...

Prediction: These 15 Items Will Still Be “It” in 2022

I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes fashion moves annoyingly fast. A trend or item that was everywhere one day can suddenly all but disappear when fashion people or celebrities move on to the next buzzy thing. It’s especially annoying because a lot of It items are quite pricey. But that’s not the case with everything.  Some It items have proven themselves to have staying power, whether they’ve literally stood the test of time by remaining cool longer than the month in which influencers are sent the item (hey, it’s a thing sometimes) or they continue to sell out or they’re classic enough to never go out of style. I, for one, prioritise these types of items when I’m investing in something because who wants to ...

6 Lesser-Known Denim Brands We Always Recommend to Our Friends

Denim is the cornerstone of many of our wardrobes. From dresses and jumpsuits to jackets and, of course, jeans, it’s the timeless trend we’ve depended on through every decade since the 1930s, when Levi’s introduced the world’s first pair of jeans designed exclusively for women. We counted on it through the ’90s when head-to-toe was the way to go and still do as we enter 2022 when the offering seems endless.  Even if you don’t count yourself as a jeans person, you’re likely to own a denim piece or at least one pair in your favourite shade. And sometimes one perfect pair is all you need, but the search for them is a process most of us spend years going through. Not only do we have the fit and shade to consider, but also, these days, picking a bra...

I’ve Worn This One Pair of Jeans On Repeat For the Last Year

Re/Done’s Stove Pipe jeans are the perfect straight leg. Not too cropped, not too long (I’m 5’2 for reference) and stiff but not uncomfortable to sit in (important). The fit is spectacular: even during a year when my weight has gone up and down they’ve remained my most turned-to pair. The best part? They go with a whole range of shoes— the length and width of the ankle works perfectly with sandals, trainers, boots and heels (keep scrolling for proof).  Yes, they’re an investment, but the quality and cost per wear make them worth it— the blue is still just as blue, the hems are still intact and the denim doesn’t sag, even after a year of washes.  Of course, if you’re looking for the perfect flare, or wide-leg or skinny— sorry to say the search continues— but if it’s...
