At times in And Just Like That, Carrie’s wardrobe seemed to lose its mojo, leaving other characters to steal the limelight. Ultimate boss Lisa Todd Wexley (aka LTW) blew Carrie out of the water with her accessory game, sweeping into a scene with an exuberant swoosh of a giant beaded necklace. Her safari jacket (episode nine), courtesy of Jeremy Scott for Moschino, had the entire contents of a makeup bag strapped to it—bonkers, yes, but it made you hit the pause button. Sure, the fashion in And Just Like That had the hallmarks of classic Carrie—her trick of throwing on a mad, quirky accessory only she could pull off. And making even the edgiest, hardest-to-wear high fashion look easy. Back too, were the familiar style staples that made Carrie so watchable: clashing prin...
The other day, I was tidying up my everyday makeup draw, which tends to throw up over my chest of drawers throughout the week, and I noticed something. Fenty Beauty has my makeup bag in a chokehold. And it’s not just my makeup. My skincare and bodycare have all had the Fenty treatment in my beauty routine. From the Fenty Skin Butta Drop Whipped Oil Body Cream that envelops winter-ravaged skin to the event-ready Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, I am a huge fan of Rihanna’s product ranges. If I’m ranking her three ranges, it’s got to be as follows: Fenty Beauty is number one (reasons coming below), Fenty Skin bodycare, and then the skincare. The makeup is so good I think I could easily replace all of my everyday products with Fenty and be happy. The onl...
The last five or so years have seen midis dominate the skirt stakes, manifesting in everything from slinky, ’90s-inspired slips (remember that sellout Topshop style?) to form-fitted knitted styles (#lockdownlife), but 2022 is set to bring a more eclectic selection of skirt silhouettes to the fore, and we couldn’t be more excited. The S/S 22 runways were awash with a plethora of skirt trends: Nanushka experimented with a throwback maxi-skirt-over-trousers pairing, while Miu Miu opted for preppier pleats that had a definitive school-days spin. Of course, we also have to acknowledge the storming return of the miniskirt, with Prada sending out silken minis styled with oversized leather biker jackets and COS adding an edge to its bla...
I love trying new beauty products. What a surprise, right? But after nearly a decade testing pretty much every new launch, I do sometimes get a bit disillusioned by newness. When you receive information about a “never before seen” product range every week, you truly wonder how much newness could possibly exist under the sun, but every now and again, I’m wowed by a delivery enough to rave about it to anyone who’ll listen. This year, there are already a few launches that have caught my eye across the beauty spectrum, from bodycare to makeup, and the price spectrum, too. Much to my delight, so many of the pieces I saw and loved in the Marks and Spencer S/S 22 press day last year have already started to appear in its new arrivals. The It shoes that have been gracing the feet of fashion insiders over the last 2 years or so can be summarised as thus: Flats and flatforms. Whether its Prada’s loafers, Bottega’s chunky Chelseas or even the return of the UGG, comfort and casual appeal has been the name of the game—which is unsurprising considering how much time we’ve spent on our sofas throughout 2020 and 2021. Perhaps, this is why this season the fashion crowd have embraced a heel so extreme that even devoted stiletto-lovers may quail at its epic proportions. ‘Boring’ as a pair of trousers may seem, the chic proportions and expensive-looking simplicity of the Frankie Shop’s versions make them stand out from the rest. The two main hero pairs right now are the Gelso, a slightly tapered full-length trouser that work really well with a chunky trainer or black boot, and the Bea, a slightly cropped wide leg that go with every shoe, from loafers to boots to sandals. In my opinion they’re just such an easy way to make an outfit look cool while wearing what feels like pyjamas. I’ve been wearing mine recently with thin roll necks and crew necks which tuck in easily and balance the volume of the trousers, then throwing a cardigan or blazer over it and finishing the look with a leather belt. For spring, I’ll be switching for c...

Maddy Perez and Cassie Howard have quickly become our favourite tag-team in “Euphoria” season two. The frenemies might share an on-screen love interest but they have very different approaches to fashion. Do you prefer Maddy’s vampy looks or Cassie’s baby girl outfits? We consulted the show’s costume designer Heidi Bivens, before curating your perfect character wardrobe. “For the costumes in the first season, I really tried to create our own world that was “Euphoria”, but also being grounded in some kind of reality, so that peo...
I think one the best things about the brand, which was founded in Los Angeles in 2015, is that so many of the scents can be paired beautifully; once you work out the notes that you love, you can kind of build a scent story through your living space. Don’t get me wrong the scent is strong, you don’t need to burn multiple candles but if you want to it makes the aroma even more captivating it’s amazing. Persnally, I love to burn Ash and Hinoki Fantôme at the same time for a sexy, woody warmth in Winter. However, this isn’t the case with the fragrance– I have three that I adore, but I have to wear them individually, they aren’t made to pair with each other or layer they are distinctly separate but last all day and then some especially on clothes, my home and wardrobe is basically a cacop...
When it comes to comfort dressing, instead of jogging bottoms or loungewear co-ords, the cosy item that I wear every single day is a jumper or cardigan. It’s hardly a surprising choice given quite how freezing it has been this winter. Considering they are all I wear, I have been steadily building up my collection over the past few months, with a mix of classic, simple knits and more statement styles that make them the focal point of an outfit. Perhaps it’s seeing myself from the waist up five days a week via Zoom calls or the need for some colour as an antidote to the bleakness of February weather, but I’ve been neglecting the grey and navy jumpers I usually wear every winter and am looking for something a little jollier. My all-time favourite knit is a li...
