Sacré Bleu! Zara Just Dropped the Coolest French Capsule Collection

Bonjour, mes amies. Today is a good day because not only do we have Zara news, we have a double whammy of French style news too. Two incredible fashion forces have come together to give us the ultimate chic collaboration: Charlotte Gainsbourg’s denim collection for Zara. You read that right, the cool offspring of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg has designed a capsule range for the high-street mega brand, and we think you’re going to love it.  The actress and singer has a long history of wearing denim and double denim in particular, often styling a classic true blue denim shirt with a pair of blue jeans, so she knows what she’s talking about when it comes to this material. On the matter of the new line, Gainsbourg said: “I have always wanted to have a tiny...

Pernille Teisbaek’s Mango Collection is Here and I Tried On the Best Bits

Fashion collaborations are having a bit of a moment, and it feels like every month another brand announces that it’s joining forces with a high-profile industry name. As a fashion editor it’s easy to become cynical about these powerhouse pairings, but every now and then one comes along that hits the nail on the head. This month? It’s Mango’s collaboration with Scandi It girl Pernille Teisbaek.  As one of the ‘original’ influencers, I’ve genuinely loved Pernille’s clean-lined yet statement-making style ever since I joined Instagram, and it’s this elevated approach to basics that winds its way through her Mango edit, manifesting in immaculate tailoring, versatile tank tops and flattering jeans. “I was thinkin...

Ridley Road’s Costume Designer Reveals How Fashion Is Used For Espionage in 1960s London

BBC’s 1960s thriller Ridley Road is based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Brighton-based writer Jo Bloom. Set within the Jewish community of East London’s Ridley Road, Bloom’s story follows Vivien Epstein (played by Agnes O’Casey), who works as a hairstylist at a stylish salon in Soho, London. When she isn’t at the salon, or resisting an arranged marriage, Epstein is infiltrating the neo-Nazi National Socialist Movement to find out what happened to her disappeared lover. Claire Anderson’s costume design for Ridley Road enables Epstein to switch between her two lives — as the brunette “good Jewish daughter”, and the blond undercover spy. The costume design for Ridley Road complements the set design throughout the series with lots of blue...

We’ve Ranked the Best Outfits From RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, From Choriza May to Vanity Milan

Since the third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK burst onto our screens this month, it’s once again become one of the main highlights of our week. Whether it’s the important discussions that take place in the dressing room, the catty remarks following RuPaul’s critiques, or the dazzling celebrity judges (we see you, Nicola Coughlan), each week on Drag Race UK so far has proven itself to be something truly special. What’s undoubtedly most impressive, however, is of course the outfits. Each episode sees the queens completing a number of challenges that all involve serving some serious “lewks”, and after fashion queen Bimini Bon-Boulash graced us with their presence last season, the pressure has been on for the contestants to prove their worth on the r...

From J.Lo to Rosie HW, Celebs Swear By This Best-Selling Mask for Amazing Hair

It’s an odd thing to say, we know, given that there are so many cult beauty buys out there, but really, it takes quite a lot for a beauty launch to hit the big time. With hundreds, if not thousands, of new products hitting the virtual shelves every year, it’s tough for one single product to make a name for itself. Although it might seem as though beauty insiders are recommending every new product that comes their way, trust us when we say that cementing a place in the beauty product Hall of Fame is no mean feat. Having said that, there is one particular product that has managed to make quite the impression on beauty buffs in recent years. In fact, it’s made an impression on just about everyone—so much so that when we rounded up the best-selling products of la...

21 High-Street Blazers to Buy Now and Love Forever

If we had to call out one jacket style we saw more than any other at London Fashion Week this season, it would be the blazer. There were dramatic oversized styles and bold pops of colour, classic black and leather finishes—it’s incredible how varied one item of clothing can be appear when interpreted by different people with different style personalities. It also demonstrated how the blazer is one of the most versatile and timeless items of clothing you can own, and thankfully, it’s also something that looks great at every price point.  The high street has certainly upped its game in the tailoring stakes over the last few years, with brands such as Arket and COS delivering premium pieces at purse-friendly prices. I per...

31 Cult Pieces We’ve Seen All Over the Streets of Fashion Week

For a lesson in what to wear right now, you needn’t necessarily look to the runways, as they often showcase creations too fantastical for everyday use. Instead, we like to zero in on the street style set, which reliably cherry-picks the need-to-know pieces for us, subsequently setting the tone of our wardrobes for the season ahead. And right now, as we find ourselves in the midst of fashion month, those dashing to and from shows are serving up all the shopping inspiration we need with their perfectly executed outfits, which feature some seriously chic items. Identifying these items comes easily to editors. Chances are we’ve already come across them during our dutiful fashion research. However, for the average person who doesn’t work in the industry, finding out ...

These Are the 22 Results-Driven Moisturisers You Need to Know

It seems that serums have stolen some of the spotlight away from moisturisers. There’s always a new serum or treatment that grabs the attention of beauty fans, but when’s the last time you heard someone raving about a moisturiser? Honestly, though, if you find a high-performance moisturiser that you get on with, then your skin is in for a treat. Unfortunately, the most results-driven ones in the bunch can usually be found in anti-ageing category, a term that surely we need to move past now. But as our skin changes over the course of our lives, our product requirements also change. Ultimately, what we’re looking for here are moisturisers that actually do the job and can team up with us to work with our skin concerns. Everyone has their thing, whether th...

If You Check Out One New Brand This Autumn, Make It This One

You may or may not know this, but as a fashion editor, I receive a lot of emails every day. Some contain hot-off-the-press industry updates while others detail the joys of personalised dog biscuits. (Eclectic is the best descriptive word here.) And amongst the deluge of emails, it’s rare that something really makes me sit up and take notice. But last year, one brand managed it, and that was OMNES. Not only were its designs on-point and its price points accessible, but it had the sustainability credentials to boot. And let me tell you, that is no mean feat. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should be. It begins with giving you back power. 14 Volumising Sprays That Make Even the Thinnest Hair Look So Much Thicker

One of the most important parts of my job as a beauty editor is to work out which topics will resonate most with our readers and to find the answers to the questions that people are searching for most at any given moment. And while those areas of interest definitely fluctuate, depending on what season we’re in or which beauty products are currently going viral on TikTok, there’s one beauty concern that seems to be pretty universal amongst Who What Wear readers—how to get thicker-looking hair. Yes, from the best hair colours for thin hair to the hairstyles that give your hair more volume, it appears that bulking up the appearance of thin hair is top of many of our hair wish lists for 2021.  I’v...

These Are the Miniskirt Outfits We’ll All Want to Wear in 2022

If I had to pick one trend that dominated the S/S 22 runways, it would have to be the miniskirt. Firmly sidelined by the midi skirt’s calf-grazing lengths over the last eight years or so, the mini is seeing a resurgence across the board, with countless designers—from Prada to Proenza Schouler—introducing their own take on the ’60s fashion icon. Prada’s iteration caused a particular stir amongst the fashion crowd, with Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons making a satin mini a core part of their summer line, pairing it with everything from chunky knits to leather biker jackets. They made this wardrobe classic feel fresh and exciting and certainly had me rushing to Vestiaire Collective to search for black miniskirts. While the nature of fashion month m...
