Ganni and Levi’s Launch Sustainable Jeans Collection Made From an Innovative Denim Alternative

Ganni and Levi’s are at it again. After the brands collaborated on an upcycled, rental-only denim capsule collection for summer 2020, the Danish cool-girl brand and the American classic jeans company are teaming up on a second, innovative eco-denim collection made from “cottonised hemp” — and this time, you’ll be able to purchase and keep the pieces you love. Ganni x Levi’s cottonised hemp collection features denim jeans, jackets, shorts, dresses, and tops made from the innovative fabric. “Hemp generally requires less water and fewer pesticides in cultivation than conventionally grown cotton,” said Ganni in a press statement. “The hemp blended into these garments comes from rain-fed hemp crops, which reduces water usage even further. It is th...

The Fashion Week Trend That’s Serving Us Serious Sex and the City Vibes

According to Carrie Bradshaw, “every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future . . . This is known as Fashion Week”, or in this case, it’s London Fashion Week, and the latest trend to grace the catwalks is tulle tutus! And yes, we are having some serious Sex and the City nostalgia. Whether you’re a fan of Sex and the City or you’re left perplexed when someone describes you as “a Miranda”, you’ll no doubt recognise Carrie’s iconic tulle tutu from the opening credits. According to the show’s costume designer, Patricia Field, the well-known skirt was found in a showroom bin and was likely to have cost just $5! It’s a no-brainer that Carrie paved the way for some very cool ’90s and ear...

Simone Rocha’s Autumn 2021 Collection Celebrates “Fragile Rebels” With Lots of Leather and Tulle

Simone Rocha has a unique talent for using her designs to represent the world of girlhood with authority and complexity. For her brand’s autumn/winter 2021 collection at London Fashion Week, Simone chose layers of satin, leather, and tulle to create a sartorial love letter to the “fragile rebels” of 2021. Standout trends for Simone Rocha’s autumn/winter 2021 collection are the brand’s signature tulle and puff sleeves, which are reimagined by contrasting the fragility of tulle skirts and dresses with the rebelliousness of leather jackets, puff sleeves, and combat boots. Poised for back-to-school, there is a prep-school theme to the collection as seen in the flat-collar white Oxford shirts layered under sheer pinafore dresses — we’re thinking hints of Goss...

Daniel Fletcher Just Unveiled His Brand-New Womenswear Collection For Autumn 2021, and We Want It All

On 23 Feb., London-based designer Daniel Fletcher released his first womenswear collection as part of London Fashion Week. Having been known as a menswear designer since his first collection release in 2015, the time has come for his womenswear debut. The designer also came second on Netflix’s Next in Fashion competition back in 2020, only adding to the demand for Fletcher to design women’s clothing. His first offering features tailored jackets, checkerboard prints, and split-hem trousers, inspired by his menswear archive. Sustainability is still at the core of the Fletcher brand, with the collection’s centrepiece — a checkered dress — developed with the patchwork scraps that littered his factory floor during the design process. Fletcher spoke to British Vogue about the t...

Trust Me, These Are the 5 London Fashion Week Trends We’ll Actually Wear

Over the past five days British brands have been showcasing their autumn winter 2021 collections as part of this season’s digital-only London Fashion Week. It looks a little different than usual—there’s no spectacular venues, no street style, no audiences whatsoever—however this does mean that the focus is solely on the clothes and creativity. There is certainly no shortage of creative imagination in this city of ours. If I was to sum up the season in one collective theme it would be ‘all of the clothes we haven’t been able to wear for the past twelve months.’ Think ball gowns, sequins, feathers, wildly impractical boots and skirt suits. These are outfits designed for a post-lockdown London knees-up—and I for one couldn’t be more excited.  While man...

I’m Calling It: This Will Be the Most Popular Hair Colour of 2021

From sweeping fringes to choppy bobs, hairdressers are predicting that there will be plenty of hair transformation fun to be had in 2021 once salons reopen. Unless you’re brave enough to cut your own hair at home, of course. But what about when it comes to colour? Well, unlike some of the more low-maintenance hairstyles that are already trending this year, it looks like consumers are still willing to embrace at-home box dyes in their quest for a new hue. And there’s one shade that looks set to dominate the year ahead: copper. Yes, burnished reds, coppery golds and sheeny ambers will be everywhere in 2021 and there are plenty of fashion girls and celebs already proving just how good this colour trend looks. You Des...

It’s Official: These 8 High-Street Stores Do the Best Jeans

As far as shopping experiences go, finding a great pair of jeans on the high street used to be tough (IRL or online, tbh). But over the past few years, there’s been an influx of affordable styles, lengths and shapes that suit every body shape. It’s no longer good enough that “cheap” jeans should feel cheap, so gone are the days of ill-fitting saggy pairs made of fabric that quickly wears away. Seeing as I only have one body (and different figures suit different jeans), I decided to put the question to our Facebook group, So… Should I Buy This? on the jeans they rate on the high street right now. There were some brands that were mentioned several times, and while I wouldn’t say there were any surprises, it’s clear that jeans have a lot of peopl...
