Absa Confirms Client Data Breach

Arms dealer held with live cartridges in Cross River
The police in Cross River State have paraded Cyprian Mbe (52) for allegedly dealing in arms. He was arrested during a stop and search action by the police divisional patrol team in Etung Local Government Area. Mbe, a native of Bashia in Boki council, was arrested at the weekend with 299 live cartridges concealed in a black bag. Commissioner of Police, Abdulkadir Jimoh, who addressed reporters yesterday, said the suspect had been a gun runner and a promoter of communal wars in Etung. ‘Electronic voting, best option for credible polls’
An Oyo State politician, Olayinka Oladimeji Segelu, has called for the adoption of electronic voting in Nigeria’s electoral process. China’s embassy in Australia said politicians there had “misread” a tweet showing a digitally-altered image of an Australian soldier holding a bloodied knife to the throat of an Afghan child, and were trying to stoke nationalism. Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Monday called the tweet posted by China’s foreign ministry spokesman, Zhao Lijian, “truly repugnant”, and called for an apology. Centre: Africa’s confirmed coronavirus cases surpass 2.16 million
The number of confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the African continent has reached 2,163,284 as of Monday afternoon, the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) said. The continental disease control and prevention agency said in a statement that the death toll related to the pandemic stood at 51,708. A total of 1,831,435 people infected with COVID-19 have recovered across the continent so far, according to the continental disease control and prevention agency. The most COVID-19 affected African countries in terms of the number of positive cases include South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, and Ethiopia, figures from the Africa CDC showed.
