Security operatives comprising of military and the police personnel, on Friday, successfully repelled armed bandit who opened fire on motorists plying the Kaduna-Abuja Road. Newsmen report that the incident occurred near Olam Feeds Company, but no arrest have been made. The Commissioner, Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, told newsmen at the scene of the incident that those injured, were first treated at Olam Feeds Clinic and later referred to a specialist hospital for comprehensive medical attention. Kanye West has spent nearly $6 million since entering the presidential race on July 4th, according to a campaign finance report filed with the Federal Election Commission on Friday. Kanye has largely self-funded his run thus far, loaning approximately $6.7 million to his campaign between July and August. In fact, to date, he’s received only eight outside donations totaling a little over $3800. Kwara State government has enrolled no fewer than 10,000 indigent residents of the state in the government’s health insurance scheme. Speaking at the official launch of “Go alive” (Access to care) of the Kwara State Health Insurance Agency in Ilorin on Friday, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq said that the scheme is 100 per cent free, adding that the state had fully paid for the premium of the beneficiaries. “The launching today of this health insurance scheme is a direct response of the administration to the goal three of the SGDs which is access to good health and well-being. “We are starting this scheme by onboarding at least 10,000 indigents as a test run. Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta on Friday, swore in three new Customary Court of Appeal Judges for the state. The governor, who performed the function in Asaba, said that the bill for autonomy of the judiciary in the state had been signed into law.
