Report: Jose Mourinho has lost faith in his summer signing

Gareth Bale returned to Tottenham Hotspur on a loan deal earlier this summer but the Welshman has failed to live up to the expectations so far. The 31-year-old has made eleven appearances for the London side in all competitions and he has scored three goals. Spurs fans would have expected a lot more from the winger when their club decided to sign him on loan with the option to make the move permanent. The player has had knee problems and calf problems since his move and Spanish publication Sport are reporting that Tottenham are now unwilling to activate the purchase option for Bale. Apparently, Jose Mourinho has lost confidence in the player and he will return to Madrid once his loan deal is over. It seems that the Spanish giants will be stuck with the Welshman until his contract expires i...

It’s a huge club and he did very well there. We haven’t had any contact but he’s back now and we will see what happens. “Celtic would be a great move for him. He’s at the age where he really needs to be playing and that didn’t quite materialise at Cardiff. “I would never blame another manager for not playing someone because circumstances can change all the time but unfortunately it didn’t work out. “It’s quite simple really, it’s now a case of finding somewhere where he can go next and get some game time.” The 23-year-old was on loan at the Scottish club in 2018 but his time there was plagued with injuries. The Cro...

According to Eurosport FR (via GFFN), Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on signing Montpellier striker Gaetan Laborde before the end of the January transfer window. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are without the services of Raul Jimenez at the moment, and while the Mexican striker could still return to action this season as his recovery from a fractured skull continues, Wolves are expected to sign another centre forward. Laborde has six goals and five assists in 18 Ligue 1 games so far this term and is likely to be an upgrade on 18-year-old Fabio Silva at the Molineux Stadium. With French top-flight clubs in need of money after Mediapro, a TV rights holder, withheld two successive payments, Montpellier could be willing to cash in on the 26-year-old if Wolves table a juicy offer. West Bromwich Albion also want King, and theirs and Newcastle’s interest have driven the striker’s value up. Baggies manager Sam Allardyce needs a striker that can fire his side to safety, while his Magpies counterpart Steve Bruce wants to boost his attacking options given his side’s struggles in front of goal so far this term. West Ham manager David Moyes wanted the Bournemouth star in the summer, but the £13 million deal the Hammers...

The news that Odsonne Edouard has switched to a new agent is a clear sign that he is preparing to leave Celtic this summer. However, Smyth has now claimed that he has been told ‘no’ regarding Leeds’ interest in the highly-rated defender. I’m told no. Report: What sources close to £22m ace now think after Liverpool made contact in Nov

Jamie Carragher suggested last week that Liverpool could struggle to retain their Premiership title if they don’t sign a centre-back in January. However, the club senior figures – who are responsible for transfer dealings – aren’t interested in taking short-term measures. The Reds would rather stick to the philosophy that earned them so much success in recruitment in recent years, and wait for the right player at the right price. According to reports from the Athletic, Liverpool reached out for Ozan Kabak in November. The club made contact with intermediaries representing the Schalke defender. Surprisingly, after those initial talks, Liverpool didn’t show enough interest and finally opted not to pursue a deal for the Turkish defender. He is valued at around £22 million (€25m) whi...
