‘Tell Lenny I want to come back!’ – Ex-Celtic star sends message to Hoops boss

Former Celtic midfielder Beram Kayal has admitted that he would relish the chance to return to Parkhead this summer and help Neil Lennon’s side land a 10th consecutive Scottish Premiership league title. The Israeli international spent four seasons with the Hoops after arriving from Maccabi Haifa in the summer of 2010, making 132 appearances before leaving for Brighton & Hove Albion. Kayal won four Scottish Premiership titles and two Scottish Cups with Celtic, and he dreams of winning more silverware with Lennon. “Tell Lenny I want to come back! At the moment, I have some interest, but I need to wait as clubs are waiting,” the 32-year-old free agent told the Daily Record. “I would like a big challenge and I am open to everything. I know Celtic have many midfielders and have just signed ...

Report: Celtic-linked winger has told Bruce he wants Newcastle move

According to the Daily Telegraph, former Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser has told Newcastle United head coach Steve Bruce that he wants a move to St. James Park this summer. However, the Scotland international is yet to sign the contract that has been offered to him by the Magpies, and he is waiting to see if other suitors can match their offer. Fraser has also been linked to Celtic and Arsenal, but the free agent could prefer to join Newcastle as that would take him closer to his family in Scotland. The Toons actually believe they have agreed personal terms with Fraser, but they are waiting for him to confirm that he wants the move. Bruce wants to get his signings this summer quickly through the door in preparations for the Premier League opener against West Ham United, and Newcastle could...

Report: Celtic want £30k-a-wk winger who was close to joining them in January

According to Sports World Ghana, Celtic have contacted Newcastle United about the availability of attacking midfielder Christian Atsu this summer. The Ghana international has just a year left on his current deal at St. James’ Park, and is expected to be sold before he becomes a free agent. Celtic manager Neil Lennon thought Atsu was close to joining the Hoops on loan last January, but the 28-year-old rejected the move in the last minute of the window, choosing to remain at SJP and fight for playing chances. He played 19 times across all competitions last term but he is way down the pecking order in the selection of head coach Steve Bruce. Atsu currently earns £30,000 at Newcastle and Celtic shouldn’t have a problem meeting his demands. A loan move with an option to make permanent could wor...

According to Rob Dorsett from Sky Sports, Newcastle United are interested in the player as well. They could offer a swap deal to sign the striker. #avfc have made an approach to #Bournemouth for Callum Wilson, but they will face competition from #nufc– who are prepared to make a cash + player offer, with Matt Ritchie in the bundle. — Rob Dorsett (@RobDorsettSky) September 1, 2020 It will be interesting to se...

WHO harps on virus prevention plans

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has emphasised the need for effective COVID-19 prevention plans as countries reopen their economies and borders. Its Director-General, Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus, gave the advice during a news briefing from Geneva on Monday. Ghebreyesus said he had observed the eagerness of countries to “get their economies going again”, eight months into the coronavirus pandemic. According to him, if countries are serious about opening, they must prioritise the suppression of transmission and safety of lives. He warned that opening up without efficient and effective prevention measures in place was “a recipe for disaster”. Ghebreyesus said this might seem an impossible balance, but it could be done if countries were in control of the transmission. “The more control they have...

The Bees failed to secure Premier League promotion after losing the final of the Championship play-offs to Scott Parker’s side, but they are aware that Watkins wants to play in the top-flight and are now ready to cash in on him. The 24-year-old ended last term with 26 league goals and will now look to prove himself in the big time. Report: Hammers plotting move for £187k-a-wk player Klopp dubbed ‘extraordinary quality’

According to Express, West Ham United are keen on bringing Germany international midfielder Mario Gotze to the London Stadium this summer. The 28-year-old is a free agent after leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season, and he is a wanted man across Europe, with AS Monaco and AS Roma also keen. Hammers boss David Moyes wants to strengthen his options in the attacking third after his side managed to score just 49 league goals last term, and he appears ready to take a punt on the World Cup winner. Gotze hasn’t exactly fulfilled his potential since scoring the winning goal for Germany against Argentina at the 2014 World Cup, ending last season with three goals and an assist in 20 appearances for Dortmund, but a change of scenery could do him some good. The playmaker has been linked ...

De Vega has two more years left on his current contract at the Camp Nou outfit, with a release clause of €100 million (£89 million) in the deal. However, Spurs are looking to part with just €2 million (£1.8 million), but Barcelona want at least €4 million upfront, an additional €4 million in add ons, and they want a buy-back clause to be included in any deal given his huge potential. Tottenham and two Spanish clubs in for Lucas de Vega. Sp...
