Everton are prepared to listen to offers of around £5 million for Jonjoe Kenny if they sign a new right-back this summer, Football Insider reports. Kenny has been on the fringes of the first-team squad in recent years, and he was loaned out to Celtic during the back end of last season. The Toffees are searching for a new right-back to provide cover and competition to Seamus Coleman, and they have been linked with multiple names. Kenny was valued at £7m at the turn of the year. With 11 months left on his contract, he could be sold for £5m if a new right-back is recruited. Sportslens view: At the beginning of the summer, the Toffees were heavily linked with PSV Eindhoven’s Denzel Dumfries, and talks were planned after Euro 2020. Liverpool’s title defence didn’t exactly go as hoped. Following several injuries to key players, they found themselves as low as eighth in March before eventually climbing to third. Off the back of a strong end to the campaign, and with those key players returning from their lengthy spell on the sidelines, there is some optimism around Anfield that they can once again fight for top spot. Strengths One thing that Liverpool have had for a while now is a strong backline. Even last term, when they had to shoehorn midfielders into defence and had to fast-track youngsters into the starting XI, only three teams conceded fewer. With Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip back to full fitness expect their record at the back to get better. Not to mention the addition of Ibrahima...

After a year of disappointment, Manchester City bounced back in fine fashion, cruising to the Premier League title while coming close to winning an unprecedented quadruple. This season, they will be back for more. But they cannot expect things to be as comfortable this time around. With several of their rivals strengthening, the Cityzens will need to be at the top of their game to retain the title. Strengths Where do we begin? Just one glance at Man City’s squad is enough to make anyone jealous. Last season, they scored the most goals in the division while also conceding the fewest. This shows their immense strength at both ends of the pitch. But the really frightening thing is their depth. Raheem Sterling, Aymeric Laporte, Bernardo Silva – these are just a few of the players who weren’t s...

A lot has happened at Wolverhampton Wanderers over the last few months. In that time, they’ve changed the manager, brought in new players, let some go, and see one of their main men return from a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Now, they go into the new season potentially hoping to climb back into the European spots. Strengths Under Nuno Espirito Santo, Wolves were a difficult team to beat. They had the fifth-best defensive record for two seasons in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 campaigns, resulting in consecutive seventh-place finishes. Things weren’t as solid last term, but they still own a number of the players who helped achieve that defensive solidity in the first place. England international Conor Coady is expected to line up alongside Willy Boly and Romain Saiss for most of the season, wh...

Manchester United have appointed Eric Ramsey as their new set-piece coach. According to James Ducker (The Telegraph), Ramsey has been tasked with rectifying a vulnerability at defending free-kicks and corners. Only Leeds United conceded more goals from set-pieces than the 14 shipped by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side last season, and it was an issue the manager was determined to address. Ramsay was poached from Chelsea, where he spent the past two seasons as an under-23 coach. He worked previously at Shrewsbury Town and Swansea City and arrives partly on the back of a recommendation from first-team coach Kieran McKenna, with whom he spent time at Loughborough University.
