Leicester City could attempt to sign Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard if James Maddison heads through the exit door, football.london reports. Maddison has been heavily linked with a move away from the Foxes, with Premier League rivals Arsenal identifying him as one of their top transfer targets. The Gunners have yet to meet the £60 million valuation for the England international, but the Foxes are making a contingency plan in case he leaves. Lingard was hugely impressive on loan with West Ham United earlier this year. He has been identified as a potential candidate to replace Maddison. Leeds and West Ham following 28-yr-old this summer, player could cost €15m

West Ham United and Leeds United continue to be linked with a move for Sampdoria defender Omar Colley. According to Club Doria 46, the two Premier League clubs are monitoring the experienced centre-back and may make a move to sign him in the coming weeks. SL View Colley has been a key player for Sampdoria and the reported €15 million fee could prove to be a bargain if he adapted to the Premier League. The 28-year-old is at the peak of his powers right now and could make an immediate impact in the Premier League. West Ham conceded 47 goals in 38 league games last season while Leeds shipped 54, highlighting why they need to strengthen at the back. The Hammers would perhaps be a more attractive proposition for Colley, with the club set to compete in the Europa League this season. He coul...

Newcastle United post healthy financial results despite taking hit in pandemic

Newcastle United posted their 2019/20 financial results and boasted better numbers than the majority of Premier League clubs despite the disruption from Covid-19, says Swiss Ramble on Twitter. The Magpies posted a £26m loss (£23m after tax), considerably down from their £41m pre-tax profit from the previous year, but they did a lot better than most sides. United’s revenue fell to £152.6m, which was down 14% (£23.8m) from 2018/19. Expenses went up by £45m (28%), but the profit on player sales rose by £2m to £26m. Swiss Ramble notes that Newcastle’s suffered a big revenue loss from broadcasting, directly affected by the pandemic – the Toon Army lost £18m (14%) from the previous year’s total of £124m. Matchday revenue also slumped unsurprisingly. They posted £24.8m in 2018/19 and £17.4m in 20...

Here’s a Look Back At the World Records, Upsets and Highlights from the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics

The Tokyo Olympics have come to an end and after two weeks of sports and over 1,000 medals, we can finally take a step back look over some of the momentous events that occurred at the gather of athletes that happens once every four years — or in Tokyo’s case, five. True, this year’s Olympic Games happened under unprecedented circumstances which delayed the event by a year, but the true essence of the Olympics was still shown countless times even in the presence of empty stadiums. This year’s top three countries from ascending order saw the United States with 39 gold medals (113 total), China with 38 gold (88 total), and finally Japan with 27 gold medals (58 total). One standout occurrence at this year’s Games was that there were a healthy number of records broken along with several heart-w...

There were reports earlier this summer that Rangers have already made a formal approac...

Manchester United star set to stay as Arsenal join race for international

Manchester United are exploring the possibility of keeping Diogo Dalot at the club this season. According to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are pleased with the 22-year-old in training. The Portuguese spent last season on loan at AC Milan and would be happy to return to the San Siro for another year. In 33 appearances for the Rossoneri, he scored two goals and registered three assists. His solid performances for the Serie A club earned him a call up to the national side for the European Championships. Milan are keen on extending Dalot’s loan but refuse to match United’s valuation of €4-5 million as a loan fee. Moreover, the Italian giants are closing in on a deal for AS Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi, claims Fabrizio Romano. AC Milan are closing on Alessandro Florenzi as new right bac...

Rangers head into the game on the back of a defeat against Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend. The fans will be expecting a strong reaction from the players after they produced an under-par performance at Tannadice. The Gers will be desperate to bounce back with a morale-boosting win to secure their place in the next round of Europe’s top club competition. Manager Steven Gerrard is expected to make a couple of changes after expressing his disappointment with the display on Saturday. Ianis Hagi and Allan McGregor are likely to replace...

What the Lionel Messi deal means for Real Madrid and Manchester United

Barcelona made the shock announcement over Lionel Messi’s exit last week after they could not renew his contract due to financial and structural obstacles. The Argentine has since acknowledged that a move to Paris Saint-Germain is a ‘possibility’, and he looks set to join them on a free transfer in the coming days. This could affect the future of two players in Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba, who have been fancied to pursue fresh challenges this summer. Mbappe has been reluctant to renew his Paris Saint-Germain contract expiring in June 2022, and there are now doubts whether he will stay with the club. Earlier this summer, Les Parisiens’ prime focus was on renewing the contract of the World Cup winner, but they are now on the cusp of landing Messi. With the arrival of Messi, they will obviou...

Newcastle United have agreed a fee in the region of £25 million for Joe Willock. The Magpies have reached an agreement with Arsenal but still need to finalise personal terms with the midfielder. The 21-year-old was on loan at Newcastle last season and made a lasting impression with his performances. Steve Bruce was keen to bring him back to the club permanently, and the fans will be delighted to see that Newcastle have agreed to pay for his services. Willock had an outstanding loan spell at St James’ Park, scoring in seven consecutive matches for the Magpies. The youngster has the potential to develop into a top-class Premier League midfielder and has the talent to justify his price tag in the coming years. Newcastle needed to add more creativity and goals to their midfield, and the signin...
