Following the success of the Polestar O₂, the Swedish automotive brand has announced that its all-electric roadster will be entering production as the Polestar 6. Expected to launch in 2026, the Polestar 6 will join the lineup as an expanded and remodeled take on the forthcoming Polestar Precept, also known as the Polestar 5. While the Polestar 6 will feature some of the same technology as its predecessor with hp and a top speed of 155 miles per hour (249 kph). Lyft and Motional have unveiled the all-electric IONIQ 5. The new robotaxi will be joining the company’s fleet of cars, marking its foray into driverless rides. The autonomous car will launch first in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2022, with plans to expand to major cities across the United States the following year. Following multiple delays since its original announcement back in 2017, Tesla‘s Semi Truck is finally about to be released. According to the automaker’s CEO Elon Musk, the company is now looking to produce and begin delivering the Semi Trucks before the end of the year, equipping the fleet with a 500-mile range. On top of that, Musk also claims that the long-awaited Cybertruck will finally be available to customers in 2023, although he hasn’t indicated any specific window of release within the year. BMW is now looking to further its sustainability efforts by announcing a new partnership with Toyota to co-develop vehicles that use hydrogen fuel cells. According to Autoblog, the German automaker has already developed a hydrogen-powered X5 concept and will soon begin working with its Japanese partner to construct several units this year in the hopes of reaching full production and sales by as early as 2025. The latter company can provide the expertise BMW lacks for the time being, as its hydrogen-fuelled Mirai sedan has been in production for almost 10 years. Five years after Kia last gave its Ray minivan a facelift, the Korean automaker has finally unveiled a new 2023 design for the city car. Now boasting a much more modernized look than the 2017 model, the new Ray leans in on the exterior aesthetics commonly found on electric cars currently on the market, with a fully covered grille adorned with Kia’s refreshed badge as well as streamlined LED headlights and taillights.
