Spanish Designer Creates Tesla Cybertruck-Themed Electric Locomotive Concept

Tesla has been a pioneer in creating electric vehicles, primarily notable for its revolutionary introduction of the Cybertruck — influencing the emergence of many creative ideas. Spanish car designer Victor Rodriguez Gomez took inspiration from Tesla’s innovations, borrowing the theme for his new electric locomotive concept, the “Model M.” The Model M is an independent design by Gomez, which has no ties with Tesla, yet brings a unique spin to the concept of electric vehicles — Featuring a futuristic metal streamline structure. The electric motor is located at the bottom of the vehicle, while the battery pack can be found at the top. The tires have frames despite not having wheels in the center, and the detachable handlebar borrows the look of the ones seen on Teslas vehic...

Cadillac Offers Final Preview of Its Luxurious All-Electric CELESTIQ

Leading up to its reveal later this week, Cadillac has released the final teaser for the CELESTIQ. The luxurious electric vehicle was first shown off at the company’s EV Day event in early 2020. Intended as a companion to the electric Cadillac Lyriq, each CELESTIQ model will be hand-built at General Motors’ global center in Warren, Michigan. The CELESTIQ will serve as Cadillac’s new flagship Sedan. What may set the CELESTIQ apart from the Lyriq is its price tag. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal citing people familiar with the matter, the CELESTIQ will retail for around $300,000 USD with less than 500 models built each year, which would make it one of the most-expensive Cadillacs ever. The CELESTIQ brings together all-wheel drive with a driving range of at least 300 miles ...

With three months to go before its launch, Polestar has now announced pricing for its Polestar 3 range, putting it in direct competition with the Porsche Cayenne. The 2022 Porsche Cayenne, on the other hand, starts at $73,650 USD with the Cayenne GTS going for $114,550, although there are still six more trims available above that model if you’ve got some cash to spare. Unfortunately, detailed specs for the Polestar 3 still remain largely under wraps, but Autoblog notes that it’ll feature a dual motor setup much like the Polestar 2 sedan, which is capable of churning out 408 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque. With a Performance Pack, the latter is ...

Watch Hyundai’s N Vision 74 and RN22e Concepts Take to the Racetrack

As Hyundai prepares to launch its first full electric high-performance car next year, the IONIQ N, it now premieres two new RN22E and N Vision 74 concepts under its high-performance N sub-brand. The “rolling labs” cars demonstrate the automaker’s commitment to zero-emission technologies and embody Hyundai N’s high-performance vision of electrification. Hyundai N was launched just seven years ago rooted in motorsports, and launched its very first production road car, the Hyundai i30 N, in 2017. “RN22e and N Vision 74 play an important role in the strategic development of our entire product lineup, especially our electrified, high-performance vehicles,” Thomas Schemera, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Division at Hyundai Motor Company writes i...

Mansory’s Ferrari Monza SP1/SP2 Puts Luxury, Asymmetry and Power First

Only 500 units of the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2s will ever be built between the two specifications, and to get your hands on one, you have to be an incredibly discerning and respected Ferrari collector. Assuming you have one, Mansory has introduced a customization program that promises to make your super-rare hypercar even more spectacular, and it’s not limited to just looks. Starting with the 6.5-liter V12 engine, Mansory boosts power to 830 HP and 740 Nm of torque, courtesy of a reworking of the electronics, air intake system and a new exhaust system. The latter now produces an even more ferocious sound, and can be identified as a Mansory system thanks to the red and black paint scheme it’s been given at the rear, complementing the “Mansory BESPOKE” exterior of th...

MANHART’s Land Rover Defender Packs 512 HP

The Land Rover Defender comes in multiple guises, from the three-door 90, five-door 110 and soon-coming seven-seater 130 specs to the fully-fledged V8 offering and plenty more between, but for MANHART this just isn’t enough. As a result, it presents the Defender DP 500, a tuned version of the Defender P400 that now produces 512 HP and 710 Nm of torque from its revised three-liter inline six-cylinder turbo engine. It manages this thanks to an engine remap, while a new MANHART stainless steel exhaust system with optional carbon fiber or ceramic-coated quad exhaust finishers at the rear (emulating the look of Land Rover‘s V8 Defender) also contributes to the power boost and, of course, a much throatier sound. Elsewhere, MANHART is offering a new brake kit to beef the car’s s...

TECHART Takes the Porsche 911 GTS to the Track

There’s a Porsche 911 guise for everyone, but quite often the sweet spot for this German supercar is the GTS. Now, TECHART has gotten its hands on the 911 GTS, giving it a weight reduction and more power for a car that should prove perfect on all bases. Starting with the twin-turbocharged three-liter six-cylinder engine, we find a power boost of 80 HP that now means the GTS produces 560 HP. It also packs 670 Nm, resulting in a 0-62 MPH time of 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 198 MPH, making this tune a solid rival to Porsche‘s own fast models like the GT3 or Turbo. Elsewhere, TECHART adds its iconic “Turbine” rims with center lock hubs to reduce weight while maintaining the staggered 20″ and 21″ front-rear set-up, while new adjustable coilovers have resul...

The Alfa Romeo Giulia by ErreErre Fuoriserie Is a One-Off “Retromod”

At last weekend’s Concorso d’eleganza auto d’epoca Poltu Quatu Classic in Sardinia, a car from the lesser-known Turin-based company ErreErre Fuoriserie was born. Welcome to the — quite frankly stunning — Alfa Romeo Giulia by ErreErre Fuoriserie, an homage to and marking the 60th anniversary of Alfa’s Giulia Tipo 105, the foundation for this new car’s already iconic and recognizable design. Unlike the current automotive trend that is restomodding, this is not an old car that’s been given a Back to the Future facelift. Instead, this car started life as the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and then became vintage-ified, a “retromod” if you will. Not only does it work, it also shows the timeless design of Italian automobiles such as the Tipo 105. H...

A Hacked Tesla Model S Plaid Reached a Record Top Speed of 216 MPH

A driver has now surpassed the official Tesla Model S Plaid top speed of 175 mph, breaking the record by more than 40 mph thanks to a hack in the car’s software systems. The feat was made possible by Guillaume André, the CEO of a Quebec-based company called Ingenext, which specializes in parts, kits and modules that can unlock software restrictions in Teslas. As you’d expect, the American automaker had limited the Model S Plaid’s top speed to roughly 175 mph as a matter of safety, but with a few hacks, Andre managed to access the car’s full potential, hitting a record speed of 216 mph. As he points out in the video up above, it didn’t require much in terms of hardware changes either: just larger brakes and high-performance tires for more grip and control. Else...

Kanye West Reveals a Donda Concept Foam Car

A “DONDA FOAM VEHICLE” concept teaser surfaced during Steven Smith’s announcement as the Head of Donda Industrial Design. The word “mysterious” could be used to describe many of Kanye West‘s projects, and the Foam Vehicle is no different. An official image from Donda features a rough sketch of the vehicle’s side view, which gives us a better idea of a very interesting take. The car appears to feature huge wheels and bare windows. The statement for the Donda Foam Concept reads: “Donda Foam Vehicle, Conceptualized, Designed, Manufactured in the United States, Amen.” The statement’s claims that the vehicle will be manufactured in the United States, just like Tesla, and West’s close relationship with Tesla CEO Elon Musk allows r...
