Those who’ve been following the automotive industry over recent years know that the transition to electric vehicles is pretty much inevitable, and now legendary Italian supercar maker Ferrari has finally joined in on the movement. In a roundup of the company’s capital markets day, Ferrari revealed that it plans on transitioning up to 60% of its entire lineup to hybrids or EVs by 2026, building the infrastructure to produce electric powertrains and batteries in Maranello over the next four years. The company currently boasts two hybrid models, including the Stradale and 296 GTB, but intends on releasing 15 new cars between 2023 and 2026. Lightyear 0 Revealed as World’s First Production-Ready Solar Car

After six years of development, Netherland-based EV startup, Lightyear, has officially revealed its new “Lightyear 0” sedan, the world’s first production-ready solar car. Setting the offering apart from other EVs in the market is five square meters (16.4 feet) of highly-efficient solar cells installed on the hood and roof which provide up to 43 additional miles of range every day. Lightyear claims that a driver with a short daily commute could potentially drive for up to seven months without plugging in to charge under optimal conditions. Tesla Applies for Three-Way Stock Split to “Reset” Its Stock Price

Tesla has now applied for a three-way stock split. The electric automaker last split its stocks back in August of 2020 and now hopes to repeat the procedure in order to “reset” its stock price, which has surged 43.5% over the past 24 months. The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is paying tribute to the history of McLaren with a new racecar exhibition. Founded in 1963 by Bruce McLaren, the McLaren Motor Racing team is the second-most successful team in Formula 1 history. The new exhibition explores this legacy by looking at rare early McLaren racecars like the Cam-Am, Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 5000 and USAC that all feature the automaker’s signature papaya-colored paint scheme. Sony and Honda’s EV Partnership May Launch as an Independent Venture

Back in March, Sony and Honda announced a new partnership to design and manufacture electric vehicles together, but it now seems that the two Japanese companies have decided to create a separate entity instead of using their own names.
