Bernhard Langer is a golfing legend, and now the veteran sportsman has been honored by Mercedes-Benz with his own G 550 art car. The Hodinkee founder Ben Clymer has taken to Bring a Trailer to auction off his 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe five-speed for a good cause, donating 10% of the sale’s proceeds to UNICEF in light of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Continuing their longstanding partnership, General Motors and Honda have now announced plans to co-develop electric vehicles for mass production by 2027. As you’d expect, the new plans will rely on shared EV infrastructure, utilizing a common architecture built around GM’s current Ultium batteries. Mercedes-AMG has revealed its entry-level SL 43, coming only five months after we first saw the flagship SL 55 and SL 63 V8 models. DeLorean has finally announced the reveal date for its highly anticipated EV concept car. The project, which was created in partnership with Italdesign, was first teased back in February along with a shadowy look at the vehicle’s silhouette, but now DMC has unveiled a detailed shot at the rear of the concept car along with its unveiling date: August 18. Mercedes–Maybach‘s collaboration with the late Virgil Abloh has continued with the launch of a limited-edition bespoke S-Class and an accompanying capsule collection. The final stage of the collaboration takes inspiration from “Project MAYBACH”, which Abloh unveiled alongside Mercedes-Maybach in late 2021. The vehicle is strictly limied to just 150 units, and was designed by Abloh before his passing last year. Piaggio and experimental fashion designer Feng Chen Wang have teamed up to make a customized edition of the Piaggio 1 electric scooter. The light and practical model is a modern undertaking of the e-scooter concept. Inspired by her hometown of Fujan, China, as well as London, where she is now based, Feng sought to converge Chinese tradition with vibrant and creative design. The body of the scooter takes note of China’s natural landscapes, coated with a watercolor hand-painted using the traditional Chinese brushstroke technique. Tesla has managed to increase EV deliveries and beat Wall Street expectations for Q1 of 2022. According to new figures published by Elon Musk‘s company, the automaker managed to produce 305,407 vehicles across its Model X, Y, S, and 3 over the quarter and delivered a total of 310,048. Despite the latter figure managing to exceed Wall Street expectations of 309,000, Musk called the quarter “exceptionally difficult,” citing “supply chain interruptions” as well as the zero-COVID policy in China, which has led to the suspension of the company’s largest manufacturing plant — the Shanghai Gigafactory — twice. BMW Alpina has now introduced its brand new B4 Gran Coupe. Based on the 4 Series Gran Coupe, the new Alpina model carries a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine that can push out an impressive 495 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque more than both the M3 and the M4 in their Competition trims. All that power is delivered through an eight-speed automatic transmission to bring a 0-60 mph time of just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 187 mph.
