Swedish startup Jetson has designed a personal electric aerial vehicle that doesn’t require a pilot’s license to operate. The Jetson ONE is a compact, futuristic-looking flying car that has a top speed of 63 miles per hour and eight electric motors that collectively generate 102 horsepower. And according to Federal Aviation Administration rules, “no pilot’s license is required to fly the Jetson, because it weighs less than 250 pounds and has a top speed of less than 55 nautical miles per hour,” CNET reported in an interview with Jetson’s founders Peter Ternström and Tomasz Patan. Lexus has now unveiled a new offroad kit for the LX 600 SUV over at the Tokyo Auto Salon, created with the help of Japanese tuning house JAOS. Aptly dubbed the LX 600 “OFFROAD,” the new option features an extensive body makeover tailored to take on any harsh terrain you’ll encounter. Toyota Gazoo Racing has just unveiled a Batmobile-looking GR GT3 Concept at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon. Revealed alongside a Japan-exclusive Toyota GRMN Yaris, TGR did not release a whole lot of info regarding the sleek race car, and it doesn’t seem like it was built upon any current sports car — it does, however, have a bit of 2000GT in it. The company’s official statement says that this concept promotes “driver first” car development and will most likely be hybrid or all-electric as it is accelerating activities “to make the world of motorsports sustainable.” Equipped with a rather aggressive aero kit, this is one serious concept. Tesla tuner Tsportline has just released a premium racing Yoke steering wheel for the Telsa Model S. This new design sees the top section joined for a full 360 wheel and features carbon fiber matched with a 3M metal structure and baltic birch plywood for extensive layers. It is then sealed with polyurethane adhesive to prevent moisture, cracking, and deformation then topped with Glasurit clearcoat. The entire wheel takes two weeks to make and is hand upholstered with European leather. This uses the original OEM airbag but will null the heated steering wheel functionality if you’ve got the cold weather package. Tesla is reportedly delaying the release of its Cybertruck until 2023, according to Reuters. A person familiar with the matter told Reuters that the company now plans to start the initial production of the Cybertruck in the first quarter of 2023. “The person said the delay comes as Tesla is changing features and functions of the electric pickup to make a compelling product as competition heats up in the segment,” Reuters wrote. Tesla is currently competing with companies such as Rivian and Ford in the electric pickup truck market. Rivian began production on the first-ever electric pickup to hit the market in September. With an estimated power of 175 HP at 7,200 rpm and five-speed manual transaxles, the car raced under the Otto Zipper Precision Motor Cars team back in the day.
