Tiny — and we mean tiny — adjustments have been made at various points around the bike. For example, 1.5 HP has been added thanks to a new oil circuit and an 18% larger exhaust outlet, resulting in a total output of 212 HP and 90.6 lb-ft of torque and a 0-60 MPH time of around three seconds. Nissan on Monday announced that it will invest ¥2 trillion JPY (approximately $17.6 billion USD) in the development of new EVs and battery technology over the next five years. The investments will fund a larger plan the company is calling “Ambition 2030,” which aims to release 23 new electrified models, including 15 new EVs, with electrified vehicles composing half of its vehicle catalog by 2030. Nissan confirmed that 20 of the vehicles will launch in the next five years alone, as the automaker aims to establish a market mix of 75% electrified in Europe, 55% in Japan and 40% in the US and China by 2030. Back in March this year, Chinese tech giant Xiaomi expressed interest in producing its own electric vehicle, and now more news has surfaced regarding the Chinese firm’s new business venture. According to a new report from Reuters, the company is now undergoing a two-phased construction of its new automotive plant along with building the division’s headquarters, sales and research offices all within the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone. Koenigsegg has just released a video giving supercar fans a listen to its high-revving engine in the Jesko. As explained by Christian von Koenigsegg himself, the video dives into how the company managed to squeeze 1,600 HP out of the $3 million USD Jesko’s 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The key change in design for the drivetrain is the absence of a flywheel and clutch between the transmission and engine. The Jesko uses a new 9-speed multi-clutch transmission called the “Light Speed Transmission (LST)” and sees small clutches per each gear pair. This results in a 50% shorter transmission than the previous 7-speed dual-clutch, and a new transmission weight of just 198 lbs.
