The vintage Aston Martin stolen from Sean Connery‘s 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger has been found nearly 25 years later. The Aston Martin DB5 which was made popular by Connery’s role is estimated to be worth around $25 million USD (£18.5 million GBP). The vehicle was reportedly purchased by a private collector in the mid-1980s but it was later stolen from a secure airport hangar in Florida in 1997. The Telegraph reported that the long-missing DB5 was found by Art Recovery International, which is a group that specializes in hunting down lost or stolen luxury items. Tesla has revealed a string of successes in its latest 2021 Q4 report. While the company faced multiple challenges including chip shortages, the electric vehicles company achieved double the amount of deliveries to its customers in comparison to 2020. In 2021, Tesla reported it has delivered 936,172 cars, with 308,600 of them made in the final quarter of the year. The number sees the company nearly double Tesla’s handover in 2020 which was only 499,550 vehicles. The year saw many issues with the Tesla Model S and Model X and deliveries of its higher-end models to drop by more than half in 2021 from 57,039 to 24,964 vehicles. Mumbai-based designer Onkar H reimagines the iconic DMC DeLorean, popularized by the cult-classic Back to the Future films, as a modern electric vehicle. The concept switches the iconic gull-wing doors with an open-hatch retractable windshield which allows for an unobstructed sky roof. The electric sports car maintains the same boxy styling with the addition of smooth fluid contours, custom-shaped LED lights, a clean minimalist cockpit, and speckled flat top rims. Tesla is recalling over 475,000 Model 3 and Model S cars in the U.S. over issues with the rearview camera and front trunk. Bloomberg first reported that the company plans to recall all Model 3 vehicles made between 2017 and 2020 because of an issue rearview camera cable harness. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the rearview camera cable harness may be damaged by opening and closing the trunk lid, preventing the rearview camera image from displaying. This amounts to 356,309 vehicles that may be at an increased risk of a crash. Another issue, this time with the front truck latch, has been reported to the NHTSA affecting about 119,009 Model S vehicles from 2014-2021. Faced with an expensive repair bill, a man from Finland decided to simply dispose of his Tesla Model S in a very unique way. Tuomas Katainen teamed up with Lauri Vuohensilta from the Hydraulic Press YouTube channel and the Pommijatkat (Bomb Dudes) YouTube channel to strap 66 pounds of dynamite to his broken car to effectively blow it up. Taking place in Jaala, Finland, Katainen revealed that his 2013 Tesla Model S required a battery replacement which Tesla quoted at $22,000 USD. Shortly after reports of Hyundai shuttering its combustible engine development division, news has broken that the South Korean automotive giant is also slamming the brakes on hydrogen tech. According to Korean news outlet Chosunbiz, Hyundai executives have pulled the plug on the third-generation hydrogen fuel cells originally intended for use on its Genesis series after negative results came back from a feasibility study. Mansory has just unveiled its newest automotive masterpiece in the form of a reworked Rolls-Royce Cullinan. This one-off “Special UAE” build was made in celebration of the German tuner’s first showroom in Dubai. The new duotone conversion gives the luxury SUV a new body kit made from forged carbon where the entire stance and appearance have a more aggressive presence with vents, diffusers, and flared wheel arches. Tesla’s forthcoming Cybertruck has inspired a high-tech remote-controlled snowcat. Developed by the startup Spyker Workshop, the CyberKAT is a miniature electric vehicle with a similar design to the Cybertruck, featuring a sleek silver finish and a sharp angular body. Measuring 29 inches long (737 mm) by 19 inches wide (483 mm), the CyberKAT can clear approximately 4 inches (102 mm) of snow and is built to move across rugged terrain. The CyBlower, a separate attachment that’s being developed at Spyker, readily turns the EV into a snowblower when attached to its trailer hitch.
