Tesla is now selling a Cyberquad for kids for $1,900 USD. The four-wheel ATV quietly launched on the automaker’s website more than two years after the company announced full-size Cyberquad ATV to accompany its Cybertruck. The kid’s version, which is designed for children eight years and older, is powered by a lithium-ion battery and runs on electricity like the larger version. The pint-sized vehicle is equipped with a 15-mile range and top speed of 10 mph, while its physical construction is composed of a steel frame, a cushioned seat, adjustable suspension and LED lights. The ATV has three speed settings: 5 mph, 10 mph and 5 mph in reverse. The company says charging will take up to five hours to complete, and the battery life will vary based on the rider’s weight, the ter...
Formula E claims that it has created the world’s most power-efficient race car. Teasing the third generation of its racers ahead of its 2022-2023 season, the FIA and Formula E have unveiled an electric vehicle that boasts powertrains at both the front and rear for the first time, with technology to generate as much as 40% of the total power used during a race through regenerative braking alone. 250kW is sent to the front end while 350kW goes towards the rear, giving the Gen3 a total output of more than double the Gen2. Churning out 470 horsepower, the organizations also claim that its power-to-weight ratio is twice as efficient as a combustion engine counterpart, converting over 90% of its electrical energy into mechanical energy. “The Gen3 is our fastest, lightest, most powerf...

Mercedes-Benz produced some of its most handsome cars back in the 1990s, with many becoming highly sought-after modern classics in today’s market, such as this Brabus-tuned SL (R129). The market has seen models such as the S600 — notably, Michael Jordan’s Lorinser-tuned version — and slightly newer cars such as the CLK fetch big money on the secondary market, and it’s only time that the SL, which might we add is returning under the Mercedes-AMG guise very soon, will be the next car to reach grail status in the ‘Benz family. This particular example is offered up by Harlow Jap Autos, which is known for its imported range of Nissan Skylines, GT-Rs, Mitsubishi Evos and Nissan Silvias. The Mercedes-Benz SL Brabus 6.0-32 (R129) you see above spent its life in ...
DRIVERS is a series highlighting influential individuals in the HYPEBEAST sphere and their passion towards all things automotive. The approach is simple: what is car culture to you, and why do you have a passion for it? Each contributor is given a chance to shine light on their personal vehicle or vehicles, and asked to remark on how they are driving culture forward, both metaphorically and literally. On November 21, HYPEBEAST Car Club and car culture organization Purist Group held its collaborative Cars & Charity event, located at The Berrics skate park in Downtown Los Angeles, California. A generous portion of California – and out of state – car enthusiasts gathered for the event and showcased one of the best assortments of sports cars, rarities, collectibles and race cars this side ...
The late Virgil Abloh, who died last Sunday aged 41, frequently referenced the automotive and industrial design industries in his work, so it came as no shock that the designer was asked by Mercedes-Benz to collaborate and reimagine one of its leading cars, the G-Class. Now, in honor of Abloh’s family’s wishes, Mercedes-Benz proudly unveils the designer’s next car: the Project MAYBACH. Described as being “a collaborative electric show car designed to inspire the next generation, and forever question the status quo,” Project MAYBACH continues the conversation Abloh and Mercedes-Benz had on redefining luxury. It was created in tandem with Gorden Wagener, Mercedes-Benz’s Chief Design Officer, who was also enlisted to co-develop the aforementioned G-Class, a...
It goes without saying that any Bugatti is a special piece of engineering, but the EB112 is up there with some of Bugatti’s finest, and rarest, work of all time. Now, this 1-of-3 completed yet conceptual example is up for sale with Schaltkulisse. In the 1990s, Bugatti was in desperate need of a revival, so it enlisted Romano Artioli to save the company. In turn, he wanted to create a limousine for the brand — which turned out to be the EB112. Following on from the success of the EB110, Artioli penned the EB112 by taking cues from the marque’s heritage, namely the 57 SC Atlantic’s spine, and models such as the 1920s’ Tipo 55 2 door, the Tipo 32, and 57 Tank. From there, signature elements such as the Bugatti horseshoe grille were included, while the rims were a direc...
Up until today, BMW‘s M division had only ever made on standalone car, the M1. A 1970’s supercar, the M1 was ahead of its time visually and, in many ways, the same could be said about the new BMW Concept XM. This hybrid V8 SUV combines brute force with electrification, topped up via typical plug-in charging, to deliver 740 BHP and 737 lb-ft of torque. While no official stats have been revealed, we suspect with BMW’s top-spec four-wheel-drive system the XM will be good for a 0-62 MPH time of around four seconds, comparative to the likes of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan or Bentley Bentayga. Furthermore, it will be capable of driving in an electric-only mode for 50 miles, making city commutes that tiniest bit more responsible. As far as concepts go, the XM isn’t too wild, e...

When it comes to the Ducati Panigale V4 and V4 S, you’d be hard pushed to make improvements on an already rather perfect motorbike — but that’s exactly what the Italian company has done for the 2022 model year. Tiny — and we mean tiny — adjustments have been made at various points around the bike. For example, 1.5 HP has been added thanks to a new oil circuit and an 18% larger exhaust outlet, resulting in a total output of 212 HP and 90.6 lb-ft of torque and a 0-60 MPH time of around three seconds. Revamped modes allow the bike to respond differently in the desired situation, so power can be decreased to 150 HP with less responsiveness for daily use, or everything can be dialed up to 11 with rapid responses. Superbike-spec gear ratios from a new gearbox also m...
Nissan on Monday announced that it will invest ¥2 trillion JPY (approximately $17.6 billion USD) in the development of new EVs and battery technology over the next five years. The investments will fund a larger plan the company is calling “Ambition 2030,” which aims to release 23 new electrified models, including 15 new EVs, with electrified vehicles composing half of its vehicle catalog by 2030. Nissan confirmed that 20 of the vehicles will launch in the next five years alone, as the automaker aims to establish a market mix of 75% electrified in Europe, 55% in Japan and 40% in the US and China by 2030. The company said that it will launch EV models with all-solid-state batteries, which promise advanced capabilities including reduced charging times, by 2028 and ready a “p...
Back in March this year, Chinese tech giant Xiaomi expressed interest in producing its own electric vehicle, and now more news has surfaced regarding the Chinese firm’s new business venture. According to a new report from Reuters, the company is now undergoing a two-phased construction of its new automotive plant along with building the division’s headquarters, sales and research offices all within the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone. Once established, the factory will be able to pump out 300,000 electric vehicles every year. Mass production will begin in 2024. The massive scale of construction for the entire venture is made possible thanks to a $10 billion USD pledge by Xiaomi back in March to create an automotive division. With thousands of stores across C...
