This 1996 Porsche 911 GT2 Clubsport Could Fetch $1.4M USD at Auction

The Porsche 911 GT2 Clubsport is one of the rarest 993-generation models in existence, with a rumored number of just 20 ever being made, and now a very clean example has been listed by RM Sotheby’s for its upcoming St. Moritz auction. 993-generation 911s hold a special place in a Porsche fanatic’s heart, as it marked the end of the air-cooled “Mezger” engine era before the German marque moved to water-cooling. Its DNA is intrinsically connected to the ethos of Porsche: a six-cylinder, air-cooled boxer layout with twin overhead cams that featured in Porsches since the ’60s. Porsche created the GT2 Clubsport because of ’90s homologation rules, meaning it had to produce a certain number of road-going cars derived from its FIA GT2 turbocharged 911 race car. ...

Hoonigan Builds Real-Life 1,060-Horsepower ‘Halo’ Warthog

Hoonigan has just released a video documenting its newest build in partnership with Microsoft and the release of Halo Infinite. Choosing to build one of the game franchise’s most memorable vehicles — the Warthog — this build sees over 1,000 horsepower thanks to a Ford Windsor 438ci V8 engine and Garrett Motion twin turbos. The engine is matched with a Gearstar Supermatic80 transmission, while 4×4 racing suspension and active 4-wheel steering make this an off-roading dream. Check out the introductory video above and watch the build process below. In other automotive news, Rolls-Royce’s newest vehicle is actually a massive hybrid MTU mining haul truck. Qatari Royal Family-Owned Porsche 959 Komfort Heads to Auction

Following on from the just-seen 1996 Porsche 911 GT2 Clubsport that’s heading to auction at today’s RM Sotheby’s St. Moritz showcase comes yet another, and even rarer, Porsche: the 959 Komfort. This particular example is finished in “Wine Red Metallic” over a “Burgundy” interior, produced under the Porsche Exclusive division known for granting requests under the “Special Wishes” program. Not any old customer could access this program, and not any old person could buy a 959 as it was pipped alongside the likes of the Lamborghini Countach and the Ferrari F40 back in the ’80s and ’90s, making it part of a then-holy trinity of exotic supercars. Owned by a sheik of the Qatari Royal Family, this 959 Komfort was ordered alongside s...

The Ford RS200 Is an ’80s Group B Rally Legend, And It’s Up for Sale

Prior to March 2021, seeing a Ford RS200 up for sale was as rare as a unicorn, and now Bring a Trailer has a non-Evolution spec iteration up for grabs. As touched upon, the last RS200 we saw for sale was an Evolution model, meaning it was one of the 24 to be converted to an even more hardcore specification that made it closer to a road-going version of the Group B ’80s rally icon. Nevertheless, this standard RS200 is still quite the spectacle, and is just one of 140 ever built as per ’80s homologation regulations. The car is powered by a turbocharged 1.8-liter Cosworth DOHC inline-four that sends 250 HP and 215 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels, making good use of a five-speed manual gearbox and three limited-slip differentials. Aside from the engine, you’re also getting...

This 2004 Porsche Carrera GT Just Sold for $1.3M USD

When Porsche unveiled the Carrera GT concept at the 2000 Paris Motor Show, the automotive industry stopped in its tracks as it’d been years since Porsche had done anything as wild as this. By 2003, the car actually launched and just 1,270 were built over a four-year period — and now this very rare and clean 2004 example has just sold on the auction site, Bring a Trailer. The Carrera GT is without a doubt one of Porsche’s most daring models ever built, as it steered away from what purists knew — a rear-engined flat-six engine — by putting a thumping 5.7-liter V10 in the middle of the car. This sent 605 HP and 435 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. Altogether, it was a rather successful recipe, m...

Nissan Unveils Special-Edition GT-R T-Spec in “Midnight Purple” and “Millennium Jade”

Nissan has unveiled the all-new 2021 GT-R T-Spec, a special-edition model destined for the United States of America that pays homage to two of the Japanese marque’s most revered Skyline models. Immediately differentiating the T-Spec from the GT-R Premium — and subsequently slotting above the latter in the GT-R’s ranking — is its paint choices. Available in either “Millennium Jade” or “Midnight Purple,” the limited-edition pays homage to both the R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nür and the R34 V-Spec respectively. Notably, just 718 V-Spec II Nür units were produced and only 156 carried the “Millennium Jade” hue, and the T-Spec will now mark the first time this color has been offered in the States. As for “Midnight Purple,” it famous...

NOVITEC’s Ferrari F8 Spider Is Big on Carbon Fiber and Power

NOVITEC has got its hands on yet another supercar, this time around working with the Ferrari F8 Spider. While the custom convertible is not an N-LARGO-spec like its hard-roofed sibling, the F8 Tributo, NOVITEC has given the Spider a comprehensive carbon fiber-clad overhaul and has fettled with the twin-turbo V8 as well. The result is an engine that produces 802 HP, sending the F8 Spider to 62 MPH in 2.6 seconds and onto a top speed of over 211 MPH. Sound is produced via a new superlight INCONEL and 999 fine-gold-plated exhaust system, while a new set of sport springs lower the car’s center of gravity by 35mm — and for times when you need to get over humps in the road, NOVITEC’s new lifting system can raise the front of the car by 40mm at the touch of a button. As for visu...

The 2022 Subaru WRX Combines Its Rally-Bred Underpinnings With New Tech and Luxury

The 2022 Subaru WRX is here and it’s coming to a stateside dealer near you soon. Following on from the hugely successful iteration that launched back in 2015, the fifth-generation model maintains its rally-bred underpinnings but combines this with a new sense of purpose, making it a car that’s more refined than the previous generation but by no means is it a slump. Powering the 2022 iteration is a 2.4-liter turbocharged BOXER engine that’s mated to either — and thankfully — a six-speed manual with optimized gear ratios, or an automatic Subaru Performance Transmission “which offers up to 30% faster upshifts (2nd to 3rd) and 50% faster downshifts (3rd to 2nd),” and also features “adaptive shift control that can quickly respond to perform rev-ma...

It has recently revealed innovative concepts for what future hydrogen mobility may look like.
